    Gone but not forgotten.

    Adelman's has closed down. Sad.

    Problem is...

I walk into this place and I want everything. Stuffed breast of veal is my favorite. For lunch have two dogs and the fries. They'll try to seduce you with the special of two dogs and a knish. Resist! Adelmann's fries are the best in NY. Get some sliced turkey and tongue to take home. The cookies, seven layer cake and checkerboard cake ain't too shabby either. When you leave, if you think you can handle it, there's a hot bagel/bialy place across the street. Fresh out of the oven. I live in Philly now, so when I visit, I need to stock up. I only manage to get there about once every two years, yet when I walk in the door, they greet me by name. Where else in this world? Huh?

    Good food, poor customer service

The food here is good, classic Kosher deli sandwiches comperable to Katzs deli but not as large. Good knishes, deli salads, and best onion rings in the area. Matzo ball soup was absolutely flavorless, the ball was large and fluffy , but the broth was made with a bullion cube, not actual chicken. What kills me about this place is the service. Counter guys are quick and friendly. The kitchen is super slow if you are staying in, most dine in customers are of senior age, so I guess there is no rush. The woman who takes your money at the front is an absolute mess. She has no respect for customers or the deli. Try to have exact change when paying her or you will wait for 5 minutes while she picks up calls and takes her sweet time with every move. Takeout from here is a disaster too, minimum wait is 45 minutes, have waited for up to an hour and a half, and the order came wrong. My suggestion is to call in an order and pick it up, and make sure they tell you how long it will take to be ready. Good luck.

    Good Jewish Deli

The cold cuts are expensive, the service is slow, and the atmosphere is cruddy-nostalgic, but food is awesome. Great corned beef, brisket, tongue, chopped liver, etc. Plus a huge menu of sides to choose from, a respectable salad bar, and perfect onion rings. Be warned! If you're hoping for a corned beef sandwich and Heineken (like I was) you'll be disappointed - only sodas and teas here.

    Supurb Kosher Deli

I have been going to Adelman's for 40 years. This restaurant has some of the best kosher food in Brooklyn. Wonderful stuffed derma, exceptional pastrami, excellent tongue. A great special is soup (chicken noodle, lentil, mushroom barley). all-you-can-eat salad bar and a (huge) half sandwich. The service is terrific, everyone is friendly, and you'll leave knowing that you'll be back.

    Best Kosher Deli Ever

When I went to adelman's last sunday, i had vegetable soup. It was unbelievably delicious. The Hungarian Goulash was very tender like my grandma used to make. They also had an all-you-can-eat salad bar.I especially loved the carrot raisin and the cole slaw. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. The owner was very kind. I enjoyed the dinner very much.
