    Best Thing I Ever Ate

The Pizza Frita Al Uovo: Oven roasted tomato mozzarella, parmigiano & egg on a fried crackly crust. I can't wait to try the entire menu. A true Greenpoint gem.

    Worst Italian Food Ever

My husband and I are constantly searching for new places to eat in Greenpoint and we desperately hoped that Adelina's would be great. I'll start off by saying that the space is small but cozy with warm lighting. Looks like a great nighttime hangout. Our waiter was attentive and friendly as well. It's just that the food was TERRIBLE. I dunno, maybe they were just having a bad night but all three items we ordered were just beyond horrid to the point where I couldn't finish anything. The arancini was at room temperature and was made with some weird orange cheese (maybe cheddar?). There's no way it could have been mozzarella as was described on the menu. The arancini also tasted like they were deep fried in rancid oil. My pizza fritta had nice toppings of various mushrooms, tomato sauce and mozzarella but, again, was fried in rancid oil such that the crust was inedible. My husband's pasta e cecci was supposed to have a creamy sauce but the sauce actually tasted like it was made with starchy mashed chick peas. The entire pasta looked like something I would have made at home and slopped onto a plate and I'm a pretty mediocre cook. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Adelina's.
