Miss it
This place was great, I really miss it, I hope that they reopen!

Loved it!!
Even though Adelina has since closed, I thought I would set the record straight. Do NOT listen to the last 2 reviews. I'm sure their misery has nothing to do with Adelina. I have eaten at Adelina about a dozen times and always left happy. The service is warm and caring, the food is delicious. Yes, the atmosphere leaves something to be desired, but it's a step above many of it's competitors, (Caravan, Sacred Chow)... so who's to complain? Adelina will be sadly missed.

Among the most disappointing meals I've eaten in years
I even went so far as to dissuade someone looking at the menu from trying the place, which I've never done before. The leaves of my stuffed artichoke, highly recommended by the waitress, were bland and tough, while the heart was a gooey mess. The tomatoes on the bruschetta were gummy-- an adjective I never thought I would use to describe tomatoes. Perhaps the raw food is better? Certainly the limited vegan options are repugnant. My lacto-ovo dining companion tried the dairy lasagna, also highly recommended by the waitress, and she felt likewise. Obviously if you want Italian food containing dairy this city offers many fine options. However, you could also go to any corner pizza place and almost certainly fare better. I pray this restaurant either limits itself to raw foods, or soon fails. This is the kind of place that a hopeful non-vegetarian might wander into, and after tasting the slop they serve, never again consider a vegetarian restaurant.

A downright shame
I have never felt compelled to give a restaurant a negative review on menupages...until tonight. My boyfriend is vegan and I am vegetarian and we stumbled across this place while strolling near Union Square. It was our mistake that we didn't look at the menu thoroughly enough-we assumed a raw food/vegetarian place would have decent vegan entrees for him and something for me as well. We were so, so, so wrong. The bread for the bruschetta was passable but the tomatoes tasted like total mush. The vegetarian lasagna was filled with thick, cold globs of cheese that had the feel of greasy tofu. My boyfriend's vegan artichoke consisted of a tough and barely edible artichoke topped with steamed brown rice-there was absolutely zero flavor. We had ordered these dishes based on the waitress's recommendations as they were the only items on the menu she could readily recall (when we asked her about the beverages she recommended the chocolate milkshake because "you know, it's chocolatey...and that's cool"). Beyond the food, my high school cafeteria had better ambiance than this restaurant. I had high hopes when I walked into this place as I think there's a definite need for solid, vegetarian/vegan Italian food in NYC but alas, Adelina is definitely not the restaurant to fill that void. The only hope I have for this restaurant is that the food from their raw menu is better than the food from their vegetarian menu.

Had a great time!
I went to Adelina Vegetarian two nights ago and the place was pretty busy. I was in a group of 6 people and they sat at us perfectly! Mostly everyone at my table got raw food and I got a vegetarian dish. They all LOVED there dishes and I had AMAYZING raviollis with marinara sauce! It was not to exspensive and it was really filling! A girl took our order who was 11 going on 21! She was very patient, she said the specials perfectly, and the order she took came out exactly as we ordered. I would definetly come here!

EXCELLENT RAW FOOD!
I am a longtime vegetarian, and have recently become interested in raw foods. I live down the street and checked out Adelina the other day. I had the Adelina Salad Sandwich which was only $6, huge, and effing delicious! I just went back again yesterday and got it again. My boyfriend (who is not even a vegetarian) ordered the Sun Burger (also raw) and he really liked it...and didn't complain that he wasn't full I haven't tried the regular vegetarian menu, because the raw menu is so great. We also ordered the orange carob brownie balls and had them with coffee, and they were really great. Will definitely be back!

I have had the veggie burger and i thought it was very good. Today I tried the stuffed artichoke and was not into it. it tasted like a ball of bread, very bland
