Acqua

While I'm sure there are many other factors to consider, subpar food at a restaurant is pretty much a deal-breaker for me, and the deal between Acqua and me is definitively broken. The lasagna tasted extremely bland. There was almost no cheese, and the meat in between the overcooked ribbons of pasta was rubbery and spare. I never do this, but I talked to the waitress about the lasagna, told her it wasn't what I thought it would be, and switched my order to the penne with vodka sauce. She was kind to let me do this. However, the second try was pretty bad as well. I've never written a negative review (or any review) for Menu Pages, but I was very disappointed by the quality of the food.

Acqua is around the corner from my apartment, so I decided to give it a try. The bread was soft & really good, the penne vodka was excellent & the fried artichokes were superb, without much grease. The service was quick & friendly. We did get an order of Chicken rolled with Proscuitto & fontina, & while it was a good dish, the chicken was overcooked. Other than that, A great addition to the UWS. Enjoy!

Food, drink, service, people, ambienceit's all great. My favorite dish is linguini with clam sauce. Sometimes the music is too loud for normal conversation, but all you have to do is mention it and the delightful wait staff will turn it down.

I've been to Acqua many times and it always has been a unique experience. Food always consistent, great service and decor. I higly reccomend it. Keep it up guys!

Delicious Menu and great atmosphere. Very cosy and warm.

Between three of us we had three different kinds of pasta dishes and asparagus soup, though the menu is well diversified. All four items were thoughtfully prepared and delightfully served and were very tasty. Service was very courteous and efficient. Wine selection was good as well. The room was crowded and noisy, perhaps it was a Friday night and holiday season, but we had a good table. Overall the experience was well worth the price we paid and we will return , whenever we go to Symphony Space for a show.

Having been there around ten times now, I've really come to appreciate having Acqua in the neighborhood. The food is always good if not great, and the decor and service are almost a perfect combination of relaxed and sophisticated. I like to sit at the bar for a beer and the gamberi appetizer. I would however avoid the pizza, as my experience is that it's too dry and crunchy. Everything else though has been good at Acqua.
