Went for a quick bite with the family and the place hits the spot. Prices are very reasonable, the setting is very nice and the food was great. I highly recommend heading there for a casual night out.

What is with this 'food'? We arrived at 5pm - needed to eat EARLY. It took 20 minutes for the appetizers - I ordered the Minestrone -it looked and tasted like dishwater with some veggies - sent it back. Other app was a 'special' salad which was served drenched in an oily dressing. Main course of mahi mahi was totally undercooked; chicken dish was overwhelming spicy. We had cancelled another entree when we realized the service was so slow, however it did appear on the check. Our server seemed not to notice that the restaurant was almost empty - she was not attentive. With so many other choices on the UWS - this wouldn't even make the list of 'acceptable.'

I was just checking on whether or not I could get delivery on this restaurant, as this and its sister, Bettola, are two of my favourite neighborhood spots for a nice meal without breaking the bank. I felt compelled to write a review to add a ditto to comments made in the "excellent overall" review: staff genuinely cares, food is yummy, hot and fresh, and we go to either restaurant at LEAST once a month!

I was in Acqua Thursday night with my husband, we arent exactly regulars however we go there very often. I finally decided to read menu pages and I must say I am quite upset to the negative reviews. The food is always warm and on time (with being busy understandable) The staff doesnt just take orders they geniunely care and interact with each guest. We love going to Acqua its so comfy with the Italian feel, its like a second home. So if your ever in the area you should really go. The waitresses are so much fun.

I went to Acqua with my girlfriend on a Saturday night. The place was very crowded and even without a reservation they sat us immediately. A sweet waitress comes over and tells us the special with a lovely accent. My girlfriend and I decided to try the specials: chilled fennel puree, arugula salad with pears and gorgonzola cheese and cavatelli pasta with spinach and aged ricotta cheese. The soup was amazing, the dressing in the salad was delicate and light and the special pasta was something you don't usually find in a typical italian restaurant. We ended our meal with an -out of this world- mascarpone cheese cake. The maitre-D at the end of our meal came by the table and offered to us their homemade limoncello which seemed to me to be way much better than the one I usually buy at the liquor store. My g-friend and I really enjoyed our dining experience at Acqua and we'll definitely come back.

Went to acqua with a reservation for 11 on a saturday afternoon at 3:30pm. The restaurant was not crowded which questions the poor service. We weren't seated until the entire party was there, the food was mediocre except the ''panini''. The chicken panini was bland and basically had no taste. The diet soda was flat and they couldn't have cared less. Definitely wouldn't go back.
