Best kept secret in Seaport district
I hada wonderful experience at Acqua. Excellent authentic Italian cuisine. Healthy and tasty. I had a Tuscan Tagliata which is a steak (Rib eye?) sliced and served on a bed of crispy fresh baby arugula, with fingerling potatoes and cipolline (caramelized onions). It was simply perfect! Great taste and well balanced combination of ingredients. I had a bottle of Amarone, possibly the best red wine coming from Italy in these days, My girlfriend and I were in heaven :) We also had a fantastic Tiramisu and a divine chocolate Mousse. We offered our congratulations to the chef (from Sicily) and he offered us two glasses of homemade Limoncello :) We loved Acqua and we'll go back for sure!

Fantastic food!
I was over in NY for business and some collegues recommended this restaurant. We went for luch and I was extremely impressed by the quality of the food. I've been to Italy several times and I love italian food. In this restaurant you'll taste the REAL genuine italian dishes, the atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing and the historical area was a pleasant surprise! I'll definetely reccommend this restaurant to others.

Great Italian Cuisine and Atmosphere
I went to Acqua with 3 friends and we all had a great dinner and a great time. We shared one Salumeria Mista and one Formaggi misti (delicious) then we had a Lasagna, a Risotto with Asparagus, Robiola cheese and Speck (never tasted before but very well balanced and tasty) and a Linguine allo Scoglio (seafood) absolutely fresh and gorgeous. One of my friend tasted also a Tagliata, which is the Florentine version of our steak ( i think a sliced filet mignon with small potatoes and caramelized onions) and vas very satisfied (the portion was so big we shared it in 3). Homemade Tiramisu and the best chocolate Mousse ever crowned the lovely experience at Acqua. We'll be definitely back! (After dinner we strolled to the nearby river and we very much enjoyed the gorgeous view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the historical Seaport area at night)

Below Average
We were in visting New York. After reading the reviews here, I decided to try Acqua. The food was very disappointing. I had the risotto and I can't remember when I've had worse. It has a nice atmosphere. I hope they make some serious imrovements in the kitchen.

Great food
Food was super nice and just the what I had hoped for. Not a fancy place but nice and relaxed. Our waiter was slow and not good and it wasn't busy at all but as long as the food is great not a problem for me. I will take the wife the next time and I will go back for sure.

what a nice dinner
We had dinner on a quiet February Monday evening. Incredible value, GREAT PASTA. I wanted the day's special (a bolognese sauce) but on the house's homemade pappardelle.......graciously accommodated. Beautiful salads. Overall a lovely evening.

Charming Neighborhood Italian
Dined at Acqua (was Quartino) for the first time since the ownership change. We had the pear salad w/baby arugula and gorgonzola, tuscan white bean salad w/tuna, homemade spinach gnocchi w/ gorgonzola and pasta w/shrimps, baby artichokes, black olives & saffron. All lovely, simple fare. Service was v. good (Quartino had a more relaxed, slower feel). Our server was not very knowledgeable about the wine list & had to consult with bartender. Portions are a little bigger (Quartino was owned by cardiologists), yet still very healthy. This is not the place to go for greasy, fried fare. Menu has changed a little. I do not like the new bar, otherwise decor remains quaint & charming ( good date place). It is especially nice to eat outdoors here (you can see the Woolworth building at night). This is a favorite neighborhood place and a hidden gem.
