I was at Acqua yesterday evening with 3 friends. We had a great dinner and the best time! We tasted 3 pastas, Linguine with clams, Malloreddus and Fettuccine with mozzarella and tomato: all excellent, exactly like you eat in Italy, tasty and perfectly "al dente"!! The Tagliata steak was well executed and full of flavor and so was the fish of the day (red snapper) poached in white wine. We ordered a bottle of Amarone, possibly the best Italian red wine and…we were in heaven. The restaurant was packed but the service was accurate and very, very friendly. The atmosphere is casual but chic. Excellent homemade Tiramisu and Chocolate Mousse completed a perfect meal. We'll be back!!

although the ambiance and atmosphere were very pleasant and enjoyable, the food was a major disappointment, and the service was not professional. the fennel and orange salad was drenched in dressing, and the linguine with clam sauce was over-salted, the pasta was way underdone, and the clams were of inferior quality and taste. i really love that space, though. too bad...i probably won't return.

    Great evening at Acqua.....

I enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and I made a couple of new friends :). Yesterday Acqua was extremely busy (as usual lately), I sat at the bar, ordered a Tagliata Steak(perfect) and a glass of extraordinary well balanced Barolo. At the end of the night I "tasted' a few other wines suggested by the friendly (and handsome) bartender, a couple of desserts and had a lot of fun.....I strongly recommend Acqua to all lovers of "La Dolce Vita' :)

Great Food, on the top 10 of my list.

The food is def top ten out of New York's best. The only downside is the wait, but boy is it worth it. Keep up the good work Acqua.

A lot of fun under the stars

I just had dinner at acqua with my friends from the english class. We all loved it. I had Pizza Margherita with anchovies (the best in New York), Sami had a Fettuccine with Pesto (very yummy), John had a Tagliata Steak(tasty) and Shila Mezzi Rigati Pasta with Shrimps and Artichokes(great combination). We also got a bottle of Chianti and a Moscato, sparkling sweet wine with our Tiramisù, Apple Tart and Chocolate Mousse. Outdoor dining here is fabolous. The food and the wine were excellent and we had a lot of fun. We'll come back for sure.

I have heard so much about this place and finally got a chance to try it with a couple of friends. It took at least 10 minutes before the hostess took time out of her socializing to notice us and it was not busy. And another 10 minutes before getting a menu, bread, and water. We finally got a chance to order by a less than etnhusiastic waiter who knew nothing about the wine list so we just stuck to water and cocktails. The appetizers finally arrived and it was not good. The tuna tartare was subpar, and the crab salad tasted as if it were left out in the heat too long. The only good thing was the swordfish carpaccio. Our main course was a little better but still nothing to get excited about. And to top it all off I almost fell going to the bathroom. The waitstaff knows about the warped floors but no one seems to care. The whole experience was a waste of time and money.
