Amazing
The food is probably some of the best Indian food I have had. It is always good. Delivery is fast and the prices are so reasonable. This is definitely one of my favorite places to order in from. Once you try it, you will be hooked too!

Why order from soemwhere else?
I have to say there is no reason to order from anywhere else The food from Shamrat was so much better and less expensive. Glad that I read the other reviews on Menupages. Chicken Korma was succulent, the mixed appetizer was great for 2 people. This will become my staple when we decide...Hey lets have Indian for dinner tonight.

Hidden Jewel on the Upper East Side
After reading some of the good reviews here, my husband and I went to check out this little restaurant about a month ago. Since then, it has become our favorate indian restaurant on the upper east side and our regular lunch place. The food is simply excellent, and the price is amazing! Can you imagine a nice 4-course meal costs less than 10 dollars including tips? We love the atmosphere too. The exotic and slightly erotic paintings on the wall adds a little flavour to this simple and tranquil place. For those of you who enjoy great Indian food, this place is a Must! Try their lunch special. You won't be disappointed.

Great Little Restaurant!
Came in for a lunch special one day and was so thrilled with the food and service it has become a regular dining spot. The food is just fantastic; perfectly cooked and seasoned, generous portions, and delightful condiments really add to the experience. I am still trying to get around tasting everything on the menu but I can't often resist my favorite... Tandori Chicken Tikka. The service is suburb at this cute little spot and the staff is very friendly and professional. All around it is so satisfying I always find myself look forward to the next visit.

Great Indian Food and Attentive Service
I have been going to Shamrat for years, since before they moved to 1st Ave, and I would follow them all around the East Side. The food is consitently good. I recommend the Chicken Tikka Muslam. It's a sweet dish that is very difficult to find at other Indian restaurants. The atmosphere is a bit laughable but the attentive waiters more than make up for it. I would certainly vote it the best Indian food in the area.

Great food! Great service!
Absolutely the best indian restaurant on the upper east side. Great food - good portion size - and excellent service. Very prompt, friendly. I try to come here as often as possible, especially for the lunch specials (excellent value! $7 for a good sized lunch).
