    The service is horrible.

Oh my god. The service at Abigail is abysmal. I'm not talking about a one-time bad experience. I have been to Abigail probably about 10 times or so. I keep going back there because they have free wi-fi, but believe me, if they didn't there would never be a reason for me to go back. The servers constantly "forget" about you because they're too busy talking to each other behind the bar. The food often comes out a half hour after I ordered it, even if it's just a small appetizer and the place is half empty! If the food were out of this world, it might be worth the wait. But it's not. It's average, sometimes bordering on flavorless. It's really a pity, too, because I think the concept and the atmosphere is very nice, and that area definitely could use something. But man... it's so frustrating to dine there.

    Never again... ever!

I was excited for a wine bar nearby but what the neighborhood has gotten is a very poor excuse. The service is not good at all. I went with 6 other people of New Year's Eve. We waited for about 1 hour for the menu, then were told we had the wrong menu and could only choose from the Prix Fixe ($45 for subpar food it turns out). 3 of us were vegetarian and when we asked for options they told us they didn't have many. We waited forever for the food. One waiter spilled one of our wines, didn't mop it up, just picked up the glass from the floor and then forgot to bring a new glass of wine for my friend! The food was lukewarm at best (even the soup), the best part of the whole meal was the bread and butter before it, and the attitude of the staff was careless and forgetful. The whole meal took so long we couldn't even make it to the NYE party we were planning to go to, and we got there at 7:30!

    Give Abigail Another Chance

I see some old reviews for Abigail weren't so splendid, but I had a terrific dinner here tonight. The server was pleasant and helpful, the food was delicious, and thanks to the snow it was very quiet and romantic. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm excited this cozy atmosphere exists right near my house without the pretentious air of the Manhattan location.

    don't get a delivery......

I ordered some food to be delivered to my house today. When I called, I ordered the salad, (and one for my friend)They claimed it was very substantial, I also ordered a 7 dollar soup. When the food arrived, the soup was lukewarm, completely insubstantial (didn't even fill half a quart container) the salad was really bad, looked old, and was tiny, it was really bad. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. She said rudely that she wasn't in charge of quality or pricing so couldnt help me and slammed the phone down. When I called back, they said, those were the portions, and put the phone down again. The portions were one problem, but the quality was even worse. I won't go there again, this economy doesn't need businesses around who can't even be bothered to care in the slightest about a decent product. $33 i paid for two tiny, old, rancid salads, and one half quart container of luke warm oily soup.

    Also disappointed

I also live within close proximity to abigail which is why i have given it the benefit of the doubt. The more that I go there, the more gripes I have. First, something nice: there is one really nice friendly guy that works there. the coffee is good. 1. i have seen abigail in the restaurant many times, but never have i been greeted when i walked in or at all. bad PR. 2. the first time i went there, the server spilled a lot of coffee in my mediocre granola. since i didnt like it at all, i didnt ask for a replacement. she still charged me for it. 3. i agree that the prices do not reflect the food. wayyy overpriced for the hood, but also the portions and quality of food. 4. there are not a lot of vegetarian options. 5. i paid 2 or 3 dollars for a tiny and really stale pastry. 6. the ice coffee is too strong for me. (it tastes good though). 7. they also put way to much tea in the teapots.

    What's better then BYOB?

It's as simple as that. The food is great for the price, the services left a whole lot to be desired but in the end you get to bring your own booze and no one says byob has to be limited to beer and wine.

    I hope it will improve

As a resident of the area, I had high hopes for Abigail, but if my first visit was any indication, they are in for a tough road. The food was mediocre and the portions small and overpriced. As noted above, the eggs benedict came on toast rather than an English muffin and potatoes were $4 extra. The dinner menu is even more overpriced. Hopefully the owner will make some adjustments - otherwise, this place will fail and someone else will take it over. I'm really confused over how someone could have misread the neighborhood so much - we want nice restaurants, but give us our money's worth!
