    Meh

Had heard about this place, finally went. Underwhelming. My wife's steak was hard and dry, Brazilian steak was ok, but too salty. Appetizers were so so. Don't know what all the full is about.

    Pleased!

We heard this was a great kosher restaurant, and it did not disappoint. My wife and I tried it for the first time last night. The menu, though a little strange, looked exciting and the food didn't disappoint. The restaurant is pretty pricey, but it was a special night and we had the kosher advantage card so we saved 10% which made a little better. Still, only on a special night out...

    are you kidding?

We went here because of all the good reviews. The place is downstairs in what looks like a hotel conference room. The food highly inconsistent, not that good, and expensive! The fish was well made but my halibut had gelatinous sauce poured around it. It tasted like something out of a jar. My husband's skirt steak was the worst skirt steak he's had...and the chimichurri sauce barely had any garlic in it!! My child's steak was $24 for two strips the size of an adult thumb. My other child's pasta was $15 and for something that also tasted like it was out of a jar. I have no idea where all these postive reviews come from?? It was my 1st time eating at a kosher restaurant....and my last!

    Lose the attitude

I went to Abigael's on a Sunday evening, without a reservation. The host was rude and made us (2 ppl) wait even though there at least 10 empty tables. All I wanted was a juicy burger and all I got was a dry burger that I could barely chew. Very disappointing!

    kinda old school

the food is good. the atmosphere is fine, if you're 80. it's not "cool." it's definitely old school traditional and elegant but if you're looking for a fun, chic, kosher restaurant, look elsewhere.

    Surprisingly So-So

I have eaten at Abigael's a number of times and generally I have rave reviews for it. After eating there last night, this isn't so much the case. As always, the brisket eggrolls were amazing and the sangria was second to none. I almost always go with the 22 oz Brazilian rib steak and laid the problem. The steak generally is thick (what 22 oz. steak isn't?) and well marbled throughout. Last night however, the steak was "whimpy" (nowhere near 22 oz., not that any one man needs 22 oz. of beef at one sitting, but hey, that's what you are paying for. Furthermore, the steak came out at best medium well, after asking for it to be medium rare (another thing that Abigael's is generally great at). The waiter was extremely gracious about taking it back and after 25 minutes (after all others in my party had finished) I got another (whimpy) steak, but it was a perfect medium rare to their credit. It is a bit more disappointing when this happens at Abigael's because as far as kosher goes, I hold them at a slightly higher level than most places. I will certainly toss it up to a bad, busy, Chanukah night and try it again before writing it off forever.
