My friend and I arrived early for our hard to get 9pm reservation. After perusing the extensive wine list, the more original cocktail list won our attention. I opted for the Thai Maiden, a lychee martini meets savory basil for a refreshing drink. Our waiter was very helpful in choosing appetizers for me and my friend to share. He recommended the tuna tartare tacos and the crabcakes. Both great choices! The crab cake was as it should be, mostly crab with very little breading. The service between courses was a little slow, but the delicious scallops more than made up for it. Perfectly seared with an interesting foie gras pairing. It’s one of those impossible to get reservations, and I now understand why. I’m hard pressed to find anything negative to say about my experience.

The men all make 7 figures and the women are all 6 ft tall. It's definitely a ‘place to be seen’ scene. Food is good. Staff was on point tonight. The chick manager with the funky style conducts the room like it’s a symphony. At several points throughout our dinner, a few short dudes would buzz around tables as if there was someone extremely important sitting there. It made me wonder which movie producer or CEO was sitting a few tables over. When we were leaving we saw Chuck from Gossip Girl walking in. Abe & Arthur’s is Audrey Hepburn and Paris Hilton snuggled underneath the afghan your Grandmother knitted. A little classic New York, a little trendy chic New York and a little bit of cozy home New York.

Went to Abe & Arthur's for the second time last week, and loved it just as much as I did the first time. Even though the restaurant was very crowded and busy, I didn't feel that it took away from the food or the service since everything we ordered came out fairly quickly, and the waiters and busboys were all attentive to our table's needs. To start we ordered their signature Tuna Tartare tacos which were great, as well as the sliders which were also great. For the main course, our group shared a Filet Mignon (perfectly cooked), the Duck dish, and the Risotto, with sides of Mac & Cheese and French Fries. There were no complaints at all about any of the dishes, as everyone seemed to love every bite. That lead us to the dessert portion of the dinner, which certainly didn't disappoint. Our table split a Chocolate Meltdown, which was sort of a hybrid chocolate cake/souffle and absolutely delicious, as well as a Cookies & Cream souffle. Overall, the dinner was amazing and the service was outstanding (we ate at 9:30pm on a Friday). Will definitely be back next time one of my friends has a birthday they need to celebrate.

In a nutshell - great food, terrible service. Went last night with boyfriend, parents and brother. We had a reservation and arrived on time, but when seated the 5 of us were squished into a 4 person table. My boyfriend had to sit at an angle to get table space! The busboys/helpers were phenomenal - our waiter was terrible. Never introduced himself and was extremely unhelpful with questions on the menu. The main question asked was "should we order sides or do the entrees come with sides" to which he flubbered through some mumbling for about 30 seconds and finally declared "Basically, I would recommend you order sides. I'll give you another minute" and turned around and walked away with out any sort of recommendations! Also, prior to even ordering drinks - he came over to take our dinner order which in turn made us feel the whole time like he couldn't wait to get us out the door. Appetizers were served before drinks and once the entrees were served, the waiter never came over to ask if we needed anything. I will concede however that the entrees and sides were delicious. We all ordered different main dishes and multiple sides and everything was devoured. Once the plates were whisked away however, the waiter appeared (only his third time by our table!) and handed us little black books. My father had to ask what they were before being informed they were the dessert menu and again, the server promptly turned around and walked away with out any recommendations. We all declined as we did not want to inconvenience him any further. Unfortunately there was not a way to indicate on the tip line of the check that the only ones who should receive it were the busboys who actually were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our waitier - not so much. Too bad because the food was tasty but overpriced for that type of experience.

The food is actually not bad at all. The food was the only redeeming quality to this place. The service was, well, terrible. The busboys were terrific and were more reliable than our server who had not a clue on the food, no suggestions, nothing. Forgot side dishes, my port never came. The entire staff here (except the busboys) were rude, full of themselves, very young and inexperienced. It was like walking into a casting call for a soap opera. Again, the food was pretty good, but i would think the management would want credible wait staff that can help highlight the very tasty, well cooked fare coming out of a talented kitchen. One last thing..turn down the music, and, please..Michael Jackson pumping through the restaurant? Clearly this place has an identity crisis. There are just so many other places I would go to, this is too touristy for me, a foodie who can appreciate a well oiled establishment-this is not one.

This restaurant is in a fantastic location and the decor is tastefully done. However, the service at this establishment is abhorrent. Principally, the hostess service. Instead of apologizing each of the 3 times we asked if our table was ready during the 50 minutes we were waiting for our confirmed reservation, we were, quite literally, screamed at and told we were being impatient. In my 15 years of dining in this city I have never encountered such a rude hostess. A simple, "I am sorry we are doing the best we can to get you seated as soon as possible," would have been all that was needed to keep us happy.

We went last week and it was above & beyond my expectations...sceney yet in a sexy, laid back, confident way...the service was top-notch(it makes you feel like other places should take heed and step their game up!)...food - so yummy - especially the robbiola polenta and the truffle herbed parm fries..drinks - refreshing...overall -a winner!
