Friends and I had lunch at ABC Cocina today, and it was completely wonderful. We started with the spring pea guacamole, which was the usual avocado mixture, quite spicy, mixed with peas. That extra ingredient added a lovely textural touch, and the warm tortilla chips were the best I've ever had. Peekytoe and corn fritters, shaved fluke, calamari stuffed with chorizo with white beans and tomatoes, crispy chicken tacos, mushroom tacos, and arroz con pollo followed. Not one dish disappointed. (The grapefruit margaritas and moonshine mojitas added to our pleasure.) The service, from bar tender to waitress to bus boys, was thoughtful, patient and attentive. Unfortunately, like its next-door sibling ABC Kitchen, Cocina is quite loud, but worth the suffering for sure. A triumph!
