From the moment we arrived at Aarpan we were promptly greeted and seated. My wife and I shared a Pani Poori. It was the first time we tried this Chickpea puff appetizer, and we were glad we did. The waiter was very gracious to explain to us the right way to enjoy these. They have holes on the top where you put in some mint sauce and tamarind sauce, then add the tamarind water inside. You eat the puff in one bite, and we were delighted with the tangy spices that awakened our palates. My wife had the Bareen Baingan and I had the Chennai Chicken Curry. Both were tender, delicious, and we had ordered them spicy, and they served them just as we had ordered them. We were craving Indian food and we were both very happy to satisfy our craving. Would definitely recommend to friends and we'll definitely be back. Thanks for a great experience!

My food order took well over an hour and a half to arrive. It was reasonably tasty enough, but this was an obscene amount of time to wait for delivery. Do yourself a favor - if you want the food, walk down there yourself and get it because it will be a lot quicker. Or save yourself the effort and just order from another place.

Ordered Take out at 9pm Tuesday night.Delivery Special with Lamb Rogan Josh and a Diet Coke. 1. Guy on phone was unintelligible. 2. Roti was day-old and crusty. 3. Papadam was omitted but was supposed to be included. 4. Lamb container had at least 1/2 cup of oil floating on top of the rogan josh (curry)… almost as much oil as everything else. 5. Flavor of lamb was dull and sauce had no notes of anything. Samosa was uninspired. 5. No condiments were included whatsoever. other Indian places send you too much - this one sends none! 6. Delivery guy called my phone from outside my apartment rather than ringing buzzer. Totaled $20 including tip and definitely not worth it.

Like a lot of people who've already commented, I've lived in Park Slope for over a decade and have been waiting for something like Aarpan to arrive. Fantastic food. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but aren't most places on 5th avenue? I'm happy to pay a little extra for the vivid flavors and fresh ingredients that they brought to my door. Way better than the other Indian places in the neighborhood.

My husband and I ate here tonight and I am soexcited to finally have quality, fresh Indian cuisine in the neighborhood! I grew up eating (Northern) Indian food and am very picky. The chicken was fresh and tender, the malai kofta was freshly made and perfectly spiced, and the naan and basmati were great too. I would have like a little thinner onion kulcha with more onions and maybe some lemon added to the onions for tartness but other than that it was freshly baked and great. The sauces in the dishes were very flavorful and great consistency. We have found that other Indian restaurants in the area water their sauces down and also do not use fresh produce. The portions are a little bit smaller but the difference in quality is so immense that it didnt matter to us one bit. We will definitely be coming back!

Friendly, helpful, generous service, well-priced lunch special, nicely presented delicious, fresh food! and BYOB! Plus, they have nice garden seating. They played catchy Indian music that added to the experience.

... but my order was delivered without the rice or papadams, both of which were supposed to be part of the delivery special. So I essentially paid more money for less than if I had ordered a la carte. Good enough that I'll go to the restaurant to eat, but probably won't get delivery again. Shame.
