I love chicken tikka masala, it's my guilty pleasure. Ordered the dish from here after a long day only to find that the chicken was dry, the rice had hot pink coloring sprinkled on the top (I assure you it wasn't paprika), and most upsetting, the masala sauce tasted sickeningly sweet, as if masala sauce and Chinese spare rib sauce had an evil culinary baby together. Never again.

Really fresh tasting, good Indian food. Was not expecting much, as many Indian restaurants disappoint a girl from London. But this was great!! Even serving Onion Bhajis. Will defiantly be returning

I used to eat at this restaurant on a fairly regular basis and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I'm not sure if the restaurant is under new management or if there is a new cook, but the food is very bland and items that used to come standard (basmati rice, naan) are now extra. I really don't know what happened.

The buffet is good value, but the food was a bit bland. I guess this is to accommodate more customers. Another positive is that they managed not to over-cook the food. For example, the chicken in their chicken tikka masala was not over-cooked, eventhough it must have been simmering at the buffet table for quite some time.

3rd time ordering from this place and no 3rd time was not the charm. The previous 2 times the food was delivered in 50 minutes and 55 minutes respectively. 3rd time, Aaheli took 1.5 hrs to deliver and this after multiple phone calls after the first 45 minutes. Their excuse was they were too busy to take care of delivery orders and had to attend to guests at the restaurant first, when we asked them they should have told us that they are very busy and will not get to our order till they have their in house guests sorted out, they continued arguing, forget getting an apology.

Usually don't write reviews but was compelled to do so for Aaheli. Went there as my family was visiting from India. It was probably 9 PM and the restaurant was empty. We ordered a Masala Dosa among other things and were shocked when the manager comes to our table and serves us a half black dosa, which is burnt. Even if I wasn't from India, you do not need to be genius to figure out if something is burnt or not. Staff was not cooperative. Was a cold night and the Manager insisted on keeping the main door open after requesting him to close the door 3 times!

I have been living in US for some time now but originally from India. I have been to many Indian restaurants in New York. Most restaurants are expensive and serve spicy food in the name of Indian food. Aaheli is one of the rare Indian restaurant where Indian food is served the way it is supposed to be - flavorful. I ordered Kashmiri Vegetable Korma on Sunday and loved it. The portion was generous and service was impeccable. Now this is going to be my favorite Indian restaurant :)
