I'd wish I could keep quiet about A-Wah but unfortunately I love to share outstanding food experiences. The place was empty, probably because its off the beaten track. We ordered quite a bit of food as the prices are quite reasonable. The waiter delighted in our excitement over the menu, introducing us to the chef/owner and helping us choose the right dishes, including Pan Fried Shrimp & Chive Dumplings, Peking Duck Sandwiches and Chinese Fried Bread which came with a dipping sauce not unlike condensed milk. We ordered the House Special Chinese Sausage & Mixed Pork which is under the 'Rice in a Casserole' column. The waiter helpfully divided up one bowl into four bowls, spreading the condiments and crunchy rice bits over the bowls. We ordered a few other more traditional items off the menu than finished with two fun desserts, Sesame Filled Rice Balls with Peanuts and Sweet Taro with Tapioca. Even my teenage daughter and her two friends loved it. The menu offers a chance to eat Chinese that's are a little off the grid while still offering traditional dishes to please those eaters wishing to play it safe. Just don't tell anyone else about it!
