The fish I had said sea bass in the menu description. I only read the menu description because I can't read Italian. When the food came, the fish was something else. On top of that, underneath the fish there was raw union and dill salad. They really didn't go with the fish at all. This was our 25th anniversary dinner. The flavor of the raw onion stayed in my mouth even after I finished my wine. My husband had lamb chops with sausage. The sausage was undercooked. The prices are much too high for the food you get. Don't waste your money at this restaurant.

The Emperor's New Clothes
Like the old story, there is absolutely nothing there. How this place is still full, how it is well thought of is just beyond me. I am a great supporter of the restaurant business and very protective of staff. To be frank, everyone here, from the Chef/owner on down needs to retire from the business. It was like the old Groucho Marx line - "Such bad food - and such small portions." Salad that was outshined by a salad bar. Ravioli of goat cheese and proschutto that was cold on the inside and horribly over salted. Branzino that was so overcooked and oversalted that it remembered salt cod. Service that was either snotty or absent. What a joke - especially when the bill came.

Food just OK except the DESSERT!
Though the atmosphere, presentation, and service at A Voce was great, the food was pale in comparison. My meal was **unseasoned, oversalted, and rather oily**. The dessert, specifically, **La Torta is a total homerun**. Overall my experience at this restaurant felt like a beautifully wrapped box with nothing inside. A dissapointment.

Very good, but
No complaints about the food. Signature chicken dish is very tasty, escarole salad and pasta dish also quite good, but the drink pour is very cheap. The bartender actually measured a drink on the rocks. I paid plenty, but felt very disappointed. Come on A Voce!

Def. One of my top 5!
My BF and I dined here for our holiday celebration dinner following the ballet. Our table was spectacular - a table for two against the window looking out at the circle and down CPsouth... the wait staff was wonderful - the everything we ordered apps (mushroom appetizer to die for) and entrees (especially the steak) sooo amazing - with a great bottle of red wine that was recommended by their sommelier. .. we even couldnt resist but to get two desserts and an after dinner drink! All of these factors made for a very memorable and romantic meal!!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in recent memory. First, our waiter acted if we were at a TGIFriday's, repeatedly asking us to smile for him and awkwardly teasing us. He also had no idea what the word "vegetarian" meant -- when my mother asked if something could be made vegetarian (ie no prosciutto on top), he said no because it had cheese on it. When she said cheese was ok, he told her no, vegetarians can't eat cheese and if she was a vegetarian she couldn't have the dish (which was a salad). When we then specifically asked if they could hold the meat, he said no, it would take away from the "complexity" of the dish (again - it was a salad). He then informed her that she would be having the mushroom appetizer, and didn't even give her a chance to think about whether she wanted that (she didn't). The sommelier was incredibly rude - we asked for a bottle of wine and he told us they didn't have it (he refused to acknowledge that it was on their list) and suggested we try a carafe of the Super Tuscan instead. We agreed, and received a tiny carafe which contained 4 glasses of wine, and were charged $150 for it. We hadn't bothered to ask the price because it wasn't a huge concern and we assumed it would be comparable to the bottle we'd asked for (around $80), but $150 for 4 glasses of wine is a price that should be mentioned upfront. Finally, the food was overwhelmingly greasy and bland -- there was literally nothing I would eat again. I really enjoyed the Madison Ave A Voce and was totally disappointed by this one.

Attended a private party here last week. One of the worst culinary experiences ever in a venue that is well thought of. I will skip the cocktail party first. The first course was either a watercress salad with fress parmesan or a marinated scallop presentation. The salad was far too cold and the dressing was tasteless. Not one of the four people at our table finished even half. The scallops were not "raw" as the server said, but marinated and served with vegetables. Hardly any taste whatsover. The next dish was caviatelle with a wild boar bolognese - sounded great. The pasta was gummy and the rago, what there was of it was again tasteless. It also reminded me of the old Groucho Marx line about the food being so bad "and such small portions!" The second plat was a steak that was OK, but nothing more. Along side was gloppy polenta and good brussels sprouts ( I've since learned that it was the recipe of the former chef ) - what made it so amusing was that the waiter, who was rushing us throughout, had to go to the kitchen to find out what the polenta was! Dessert was some typical chocolate "painting" that should force the desert chef back to school. All and all an embarassment. Avoid this place at all costs.
