Love it ;)
This is absolutely my FAVORITE restaurant in Harlem. The food is soo good and worth the wait. If you go there during the day there is usually not a long line so if ever I am free during the day I make suure to go here. The witing fish, mac and cheese and shrimp are amongst my favorites there!! Also the candied yams!!! yuummmm! Try it!!!

love it. pros and cons
pros. - love the new location. the decor is a step up. much more space, more seating, even more space upstairs. directly right across the street from where they used to be. - the food is still great. everything is still pretty much what it used to be. they expanded the menu. they also now do debit. they don't do credit anymore. i don't know why. cons. - they need to be more personable. some of the staff does have attitude, and on the wrong day, you might have to curse someone out. people are putting money into their establishment, and you're not paying for anything cheap at a taste of seafood. - the wait. they really need more registers, and servers. they hired a heap of staff, and it seems they're not being put to good use. - the prices. i believe they need to cut some deals for their customers. lower the prices on key popular items on the menu. it encourages people to still patronize, while giving an extra incentive to come.

Food is good - service sucks
I come here once in a while when I want to fill soul food seafood crave. Truth is I'd come here a lot more often if the service was better. It is a little maddening to have a cashier ice grill you with an attitude, even when you are trying to be polite.

Now it's time to expand, Please!!!
This food is THE BEST soul food I've ever tasted. ("I'm Sorry Mother, your food is good too"...my Grandma...lol) I sit at work during lunch on a daily basis craving it. (I'm doing it right now as I'm writing this review). I would go here for lunch every day but I can't b/c A taste of Seafood is too far. It would take too long to travel from Wall St. to Harlem, wait on line then travel back to work (I may not have a job by the time I get back, hehehe). "Pleeaasse, A Taste of Seafood Peops add another restaurant down here in the finance district where there is no soul food at all.

Best Soulfood& Seafood in Harlem!!
I go to this place every week because the food here is some of the best soul food you'll ever taste in NY!! One thing that makes them different is that they put a lot of LOVE into their cooking somethign a lot of soulfood restaurants are missing in NY. Soulfood is not made by following a damn recipe otherwise it'll taste like crap! The only thing I didn't like was having to wait in line so long but that goes to show people will wait in line to get some of this good cooking. Although I wish they would have 2 cashiers regardless. They recently moved across the street into their new building and boy does it look Fabulous...beautifully decorated! Hope you love it like I do!

Come and get it
I'll tell you a story, when I was little my mother used to sing in the kitchen while she was cooking. The aroma that rose from the pots and pans used to massage my imagination into vivid pictues of what I exprected to be on my plate after all was done. The truth of the matter is the woman could not cook, LMAO! My imagination was all I had because despite all of the aroma the end result left much to be desired. My siblings and I never had the heart to tell my 2 star chef of a mother that she need not bother with cooking and be the baker that she really is. Her sweet potatoe pies, chocolate cakes, and coconut pinapple cakes were to die for and are still unmatched. As the years moved on my siblings decided it was time to let her know how soul food is supposed to taste and took her to Taste of Seafood. Since then we are summoned to 125th at least once a week to pick up food for big momma. She tries desparately to figure out how to make her food taste just as good but somehow it comes out worse than before...hahahahahahaha!!! Her reasoning for missing the mark is - they must be working some roots on this here food (mind you her mouth is full of Taste of Seafood while she's fussing). If there is roots in the food (which there is not) then I guess my mother is voluntarily under the spell! Nonetheless this place will always have my business. Don't change a thing!!!!!!!!!!!

phenomenal
a taste of seafood, is nothin short of excellent. i've been ridin with them ever since they were between "16"th (116) and lenox, and 7th avenues. the fish, and shrimp has always been spectacular, but they singlehandedly have the best macaroni and cheese on the island of manhattan. if you patronize them, make sure you get not one order but two. no even one comes close to scratching tastes surface in the takeout fried seafood, and sides game. their candied yams are great, so are their collards. even their baked goods, especially their variety of cakes is on point. make sure you dont plan on doin anything physically straining after your meal there, because their food, will knock you out like a tylenol pm.. its harlems staple of home cooking. i cant wait until the bigger location goes up across the street, and they shut down the hole in the wall. recommended. run, dont walk. but make sure you take no less than a $20 or you will be disappointed. worth every cent.
