A Salt & Battery

When this place opened a few years ago, it actually was very good. Now they just give you a single piece of fish, and the "chips" were soggy. Cafe Topsy has much, much better fish and chips -- and that isn't even their main claim to fame. I'd like to recommend AS&B, but sorry, no can do...

The fish is delicious, the prices are slightly too high, the service is fun and authentic. My biggest gripe with this American chipper is their crazy-early closing time. This is the kind of food you crave after hours of beer-drinking, club-hopping, movie-going, or couch-potatoing. I go there about twice a year...if they stayed open till 4am I'd go twice a week.

The fish is the freshest, the onion rings ring my chimes. I could not believe that pinapple could be fried but it was a winner. And the deep fried mars bar was a religious experience! The food is not over salted either. Excellent!

We got an order to go and thought it was very good. Definitely will go again.

My take away fish and chips took so long, I was convinced it must have been freshly prepared, but when I got home, the fish seemed to have been through the fryer at least once before.

Great delivery!!!! The food even came wrapped in a newspaper from the U.K.!!!! Subtle but nice touch. I will order again and again.

Nothing fancy, english style fish & chips. Satisfying. I'd go again.
