Perfect
Love the atmosphere and the amazing lamb dishes. The bread and dipping sauce is delicious. And there's this hot stocky young Turkish waiter...

Pleasantly surprised!
My husband and I were walking in the neighborhood one balmy Saturday evening and saw this place. I had passed this place countless times and never paid it any attention. The food was DELICIOUS!! I ordered the eggplant puree with stewed lamb and my husband had the Manti, we could not stop eating, even though we were stuffed (my husband does not eat eggplants and he loved this puree). Will return again and try sitting inside, and not on the sidewalk of 2nd avenue.

Dining Ala Turka (the Turkish way)
I have to say the preperation of the food, the service, wine, pricing and out door seating was top notch. I ordered the stuffed chicken that was TO DIE for. I wish I could upload photos, I thought the presentation was so good I took a photo with my camera phone. My husband had the adana kebab. It was perfectly spiced, not too dry or greasy. The pinot noir was excellent. Baklava wasn't anything spectecular. I'll for sure go back!

Great time
My husband and I went to A la turka (means the Turkish way) last night. We were seated immediately at the outdoor patio. We ordered the a la turka salad, the turkish pizza and the adana kebab and wine. We enjoyed our food so much. The flavor of the kebab was very spicy cooked well. The wait staff was really friendly and welcoming. You get your money's worth here. I'll go back again.

Blech
I've given this place a chance several times (5-6) over the past couple of years, mainly because my sister likes it and our favorite Turkish place, Beyoglu, stopped delivering and we're lazy bums. It's not unpalatable, but it certainly is not good and I'm always unpleasantly surprised by the bill whenever the food arrives. We've tried a variety of dishes. My sister likes the rolled chicken breast, I've tried various lamb dishes and meatballs and they're all just...off. Bland or too one dimensional. The humus is okay, but some supermarket brands are better. And the cacik (yogurt dip) is totally flavorless. Their sigara (fried feta rolls) are pretty good though.

Our new favorite
After two incredibly good dining experiences during the last month, A La Turka is our new favorite restaurant for Middle Eastern food. We cook Persian food at home, and so appreciate the difficulty of making simple-looking dishes (such as ground-meat kabob) juicy, flavorful and yet not greasy. The shepherd salad was huge, incredibly fresh and well put together, the eggplant dishes are all delicious and - above all- the kabob is to die for. Please try this one.
