Excellent Turkish
I've been to A La Turka many times and thus far it has not disappointed. I usually get the Village Kebab. The lamb is very tender and well seasoned. And the humus is excellent.

Much better places around
Went here twice. First to try it and had and the food was ok...i.e. it was fast and edible. Second time not better so no point in going back.

great neighborhood Turkish!
Dined here recently for first time. It was very crowded for a weekday night and lively atmosphere. The host and waiters were all very attentive and service very good. All the food we ordered was fantastic..very fresh, authentic and flavorful. Plenty of bread with dipping sauces accompany the meal and the chicken was extremely tender. we ordered a few dishes and shared them all. Good wine selection and reasonably priced overall (some things better "deal" than others). great place and will certainly return.

Incredible food! But the service...
A La Turka is undeniably one of the best Turkish restaurants in Manhattan. Last time had the incredible Mixed Grill platter which at $20 is huge enough for two people to share. Came with luscious lamb kebab, chicken kebab, ground lamb kebab, and a delicious moist pork chop plus a variety of salads and grilled vegetables! Bread is delicious, wine was great, but the service is rude and lacking. Waiters (though sexy Turkish men) and host are pushy and not very gracious. We were seated in a somewhat dilapidated back corner on the "porch style" outdoor seating. I have been here many times but would still come back again as they food is truly mindblowing and of very high quality. I brought half of my meal home and will have it today for lunch!

Great Turkish
Excellent Turkish option in the neighborhood..try the stuffed baby eggplant as a cold appetizer, it is fantastic and served with warm bread. My standbys are: 1) Chicken Adana - so moist and juicy and I love the onion / beet salad that accompanies it; 2) Stuffed Chicken - probably the best dish in this place, very moist and stuffed with pine nuts, spices, etc. and served with the best mashed potatoes and spinach. Ambiance could be better I suppose, but just make sure you sit in the window area. The area near the bar with a few tables is a bit depressing!

Delicious Turkish food
The food here is amazing - just as good as Beyoglu in my opinion. Service can be snarky and spotty, and prices aren't cheap, but it's definitely worth it.

Good Turkish food with too much attitude
We had a salad and a couple of appetizer and a bottle of wine between the 3 of us who went there. The food was pretty good as was the wine, ...he kept asking us every five minutes if we were finished..We ended up having 4 bottles just to prove a point and trouble the waiter..it was a fun experience only spoiled only by the poor service.... I might not come back tto experience the relatively rude service
