A Casa Fox

I adore A Casa Fox. The food is great and I love the space it's very cozy and charming. The empanadas are an absolute must (the chorizzo is my fave). The ribs are divine. This is a great place to go on a date or in a small group (space is certainly limited, but if you're lucky to get one of the large tables...) It's obvious that care is taken in the preparation of the food everything I have had here is delicious and beautifully presented. I have been back several times and never disappointed and I travel from mid-town just to come here.

The food was horrible. Small portions. Rice and beans shldnt be so expensive on the LES. Dont come. There are better places. Stop trying to be something that youre not. This is regular food for outrageous prices.

So this food was okay, nothing spectacular. The place is rather cute, but horribly hot inside (i wanted to break the window!!) And after we've opened two bottles of wine, please don't tell us that there's a corkage fee! After all, you shouldn't charge one if you don't otherwise provide alcohol!

We spent an incredible evening here - felt like we were in our best friend's living room being attended to constantly. The food was really delicious - this said by a true foodie who has traveled all over Latin and Central America. The rustic dishes were authentic, savory and clean - not heavy at all. The pork ribs and the grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon were our favorites. They have an incredible selection of empanadas (baked, not fried!) that are addicting. We will be coming back often as I can't remember being made to feel so comfortable in a nyc restaurant - no one was kicking us out or trying to turn tables, and it was packed! The owner even came over and shared a drink with us. LOVED IT!

I just went - 2 months after their opening apparently - and things ran smoothly, food came out timely and all was delicious! So warm and pleasant, it's hard to leave. The fact that it's byob is probably why! We ordered jus about everything on the menu, and everything was hot, savory and full of deliciousness. I don' tget the harsh criticism of ealier posts - this place rocks and we will all come back lots!

My gf and I ate here the other day. We started with fried manchego (crispy and delicious with membrillo), salad (excellent pico de gallo dressing) and empanadas (chorizo & manchego, queso blanco, mushroom & cheese) which were all super delicious and perfectly cooked. The make excellent drinking food. Then I had the ribs, which at $24, are pricey, but were crispy, succulent and very flavorful. They must have fired (or talked to) the old waiter, because service was impeccable and was by no means slow. We finished with dessert (amazing rhubarb crisp) and coffee. An excellent and satisfying meal, I'll definitely go back again (maybe tonight) and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. Judging by previous comments, they seem to have worked out a lot of the kinks (and bought an air conditioner), although I think overall the restaurant is overpriced. If you bring your own wine or beer, however, it definitely worth it.

i went in for dinner with a friend and we both agreed that we will never go back for good reasons. 1. Theres no air conditioner - felt light headed and uncomfortable (no opened windows too, just glass walls!) 2. The waiter didn't know what he was doing and was quite rude 3. The food was bland, expensive, and took literally 40 minutes to come out save yourself some time and money
