Best Hot-n-Sour Soup Ever!
A&C is the kind of place you would walk right by and never think to order food from. I took a chance on it one day when I was really hungry and only had $8 to my name. It is the best value ever! Everything is super fresh and delicious. The hot-n-sour soup is honestly amazing, the best I've ever had. Instead of having it in a large vat and ladling into smaller containers, they make each order fresh! Highly highly recommend A&C for cheap fast neighborhood chinese take-out.

bad, not worth money even if cheap
shrimp roll had 2 shrimps and full off cabbage. calamari batter was nasty, probably been cooked in stale oil. not worth it at all. delivery was quick, but completely unsatisfied.

Good & cheap local take-out
I have lived a couple blocks away from A&C for five years but always avoided it because it looked divey. After reading all these positive reviews I decided to give it a chance and I was very pleased. I agree with most of the statements already posted. The broccoli is very crisp and the hot & sour soup hit the spot. I'm looking forward to going back to try the lo mein or the soy burgers!

nice!
i had a craving for hot and sour soup and came across this place. i'm usually wary of ordering from chinese takeout places but this place was great! they have lots of vegetarian and vegan options and the prices are more than reasonable. don't pass this up because it's not frou frou!

Good quality chinese take out
Clean fresh tasting food, excellent value. They have a lot of options and everything I've had has been great and way above the standard of most take out Chinese places. Definitely recommended!

Great take-out.
This place is a tiny, one-table storefront, and as unaesthetic as they come. But the food is terrific for ordering in. Our family has ordered from every Chinese restaurant in the East Village, and this one has: the largest portions, the freshest broccoli, the best General Tso's Chicken, the most flavorful eggplant in black bean sauce, the meatiest meat dishes, the best tofu dishes....over and over and over again.

Excellent Cheap Eats!
Been ordering fro this place since they opened, over ten years ago...great soups especially the Tofu & Veggie and Hot and Sour (truly hot and sour). My husband is a big fan of the Sesame Shrimp. Don't get me wrong it's not exactly health food, but you can ask for the food less oily.
