    Excellent

I've eaten the duck and "fried chicken" and both are excellent. My only regret is not having eaten there sooner since i live right near by.

    Overrated

A cute place, but I'm surprised that it gets such good reviews. Even by neighborhood restaurant standards, there's very little variety and a lot of repetition. (Several dishes feature braised kale and plantains; the limited assortment of appetizers also featured plantains.) Service was mediocre at best.

    A Salty Bistro . . . and Too Hot

We love A Bistro, have supported it since it opened, and will continue to support it, not just because the food there is arguably the best in our neighborhood. That said, our most recent experience with the veggie burger (with mushrooms and salsa) and the salmon left us with the feeling that the chef/cook was a bit heavy handed with the heat of the spices and with the salt. The tofu dishes/tofu substitutions are wonderful and we hope they maintain them, but these have also been too salty sometimes. This, by the way, from a couple that loves spice and salt. Both dishes were cooked perfectly in texture, and perhaps because of our past experiences, we could still find the unique A Bistro flavors, but the latter were at risk of being overwhelmed by the heat and salt.

    Go Soonest!

Had a wonderful brunch at A Bistro. Senegalese Chicken with pineapple flavored rice cake is out of this world. I'm still full! Last week I had the steak. An equal pleasure! The people next to me were raving about the french toast!

    Unexpectedly Amazing

A colleague suggested this place to us, assuring us that every single thing on the menu was appealing. He was spot on! The half portion of the mussels was way more than I expected, and I think they were the best I've ever had. The menu itself was such a surprising and delicious reinvention of French food, and I highly recommend it.

    Great Food

I just went to A Bistro and loved it. The calamari was delicious, as was everything else. Highly recommended.

Yummy - One of the Best Places in NYC

The food here is "off the charts." I have been 3 times and each time I love it more. There is no sign in the front of the restaurant and the place is kind of small but the food makes up for all that. The staff is friendly if not fast. You can BYOBB but they have mixed fruit drinks that, like everything else, are out of this world. Oh and leave room for dessert - you won' regret a calorie. You can quickly spend a lot of money here but you will enjoy every penny.
