Best I've had since I moved here!

I have been sooooooooo homesick and I tried several cheesesteak restaurants that have failed miserably to capture the essential ingredients that makes a good philly cheesesteak. Well I decided to give this place a try and I was pleasantly surprised! My palate was thoroughly satisfied. I shall return to try the chicken cheesesteak which is my true preference but I just thought that on the first visit I would play it safe and get the steak. For some reason, the last couple of places I visited seem to boil the chicken first (or at least it tastes like it's boiled) and it was truly "YUCK!" Anyway, this restaurant will be seeing me every time I get that feeling for a taste of home.

    The Best in NYC

Been to Geno's in Philly, absolutely love cheesesteaks and this place is honestly the best in NYC! You don't have to chew...it simply melts in your mouth. The only difference from Geno's I can say is the fresh onions...but hey...definitely wont complain coz this is sooooo good! Will be back with friends...what a great find!

    Solid, but the best?

I had the 9.99 combo, for a steak, fries, and can of soda. Fries were good but mine were cold and I ate there, so that is sort of crappy. The steak is what everyone cares about though and mine was solid, Amoroso rolls are a great touch and the meat was well cooked, like Carl's there wasn't very much Whiz on mine nor was there much American on my girlfriends. Still they tasted really good. Like Carl's this place chops up their steak, in Philly they are most like Jim's Steaks on 4th and South and that's damn good. Best steak in New York though? They are pretty much tied with Carl's in book, if I was pressed I was still say Carl's as I think their sandwich is a little bigger.

    Hometown Memories!

I am originally from the Philly area. I moved to New York 2 years ago and it took my two years to finally eat a real cheese steak. Every time I bite into a 99 Miles to Philly steak sandwich all I think about is being in South Philly. Thanks for the memory.

    Best Philly Steak in NY

The steak sandwiches are incredible! I am a little picky sometimes in the way my sandwich is prepared, but they fix it exactly the way you want it. The waffle fries are excellent. Anytime I go into the city, I HAVE to stop and get a sandwich. They are the best!

    Great Food, Except...

The cheesesteaks at 99 Miles To Philly are unbelievable. However, there is a catch. As a guy who likes a hearty meal, the regular cheesesteak doesn't have the meat I need to make up my 6 floor walk up. If you're serious about your cheesesteak and you want that sandwich you're imagining in your head, you gotta double the meat. No if's, ands or buts about it. Please, don't get me wrong. The food is incredible.
