If you can't get to Philly, go here!
My fiance and I went here for dinner last night and it was great! The sandwiches were flavorful and served piping hot. The service was quick and friendly. Best thing is that you can customize your sandwich to fit what you want. If you can't make it to Philly for a real cheesesteak then this is definitely the next best thing.

Never again...out of both good taste and principle.
This place seems more like worlds away from Philly (or NYC even!) than any distance that can possibly be measured in miles. I had a better cheesesteak in Lincoln, Nebraska once (apologies to anyone reading this who is from Lincoln. I just wouldn't have expected to get a decent cheesesteak there!). Despite this place being a C- at best, Carl's (the only good cheesesteak in NYC) doesn't deliver, and sometimes you just need a sandwich and you need it delivered. I've tried to order from this place 4 times in the last month and a half. I was on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes each time, and two of the calls were off peak hours (2PM and 3:30PM respectively). The staff is all rude, which would be one thing if this place were Jim's, Gino's or Pat's, but hell; the sandwich can't even hold Carl's proverbial jockstrap. In addition, the cheese fries and onion rings are tasteless; a footnote, but important nonetheless. The unpleasant attitude becomes even more annoying when you consider that the two times I did actually get through a "complete" delivery, my large order of attitude came with several sides of " this order is completely wrong". Between the subpar food and the inability to get a simple order of "one wit whiz and onions and a side of cheese fries" correct, it really made me want to call them back and advise them to be on top of things (both in terms of flavor and competence) if you want to be that condescending.

this place fell off
this place used to be the best cheesesteak in town - now the people who work there have changed and the food sucks, the delivery system is dysfunctional, and the people there have a huge attitude problem! hey guys, you're not doing us a favor by selling us a cheesesteak, we're doing you a favor by continuing to patronize your restaurant. but hey, this is the east village - i'm not even looking for polite, i'm looking for delicious. 99 miles, you used to have that going for you at least but now you've fallen off. you can keep your ice cold, fatty, stale breaded sandwich and your clumsy, greasy interpretation of waffle fries. i'll get my cheesesteak love elsewhere, and you can keep working on your goal of being left alone by your customers - the good news is your staff seems completely focused.

Saved Me the 99 Miles
I went to college in Philly, and this is as good as I've had anywhere. It is the ONLY place to have a cheesesteak in NYC. I will order it with extra cheese whiz next time, but it was great the way it was with tender chopped beef a la Pat's and great sauteed onions on a soft roll just as it should be and sooooo delicious! If you've never experienced a cheesesteak you are missing something great and this place is the remedy.

Won't Go Out Of My Way
The Philly Cheesesteak deal was $12 for a can of soda, fries and the cheesesteak, of course. The waffle fries were nicely seasoned but cold and the cheesesteak was in need of more cheese. As mentioned, place is small, so grab and go and fhe cashier dude wasn't too friendly but the others behind the counter were cool. For me, I can bet there are other places to go for a better hoagie, so would I go again? Maybe if I was in the area but this is nothing to go out of your way for.

sounds good...if it ever got here
I've read all these reviews and my mouth is watering. I however called in a delivery order about an hour and a half ago... and still haven't gotten my food. I called after an hour and the guy told me it was on the way, i just need to be "patient"... well its been and hour and a half exactly..i fear i may never experience this amazing sandwich... but i think this is the last time i'll ever try.
