New to the neighborhood
Just moved to the LES a month ago and I already feel like this place is my second home. They know me by name, know how I like my coffee and I just love the food. I come here everyday and am hoping to try some different things on the menu- but I can't pull myself away from the turkey reuben! Awesome coffee, terrific staff, great atmosphere!

Great Food, Poor Service!
Sadly, I cannot stop coming to this place as the sandwiches are so great, but I could do without the lousy service. Unless you are a yuppie, you will go completely unacknowledged at this place. Oh, and expect to wait...and wait..and then wait some more for your food to finally arrive. The prices are a bit obscene as a cup of coffee and a panini will cost you at least 10.00. If you have money to burn, time to waste, love great food and enjoy being treated like crap, you will LOVE 88...

I love 88 Orchard
I love this place - it is the best neighborhood coffeehouse/cafe I've experienced. Most importantly, the coffee is perfect: strong and delicous. They also steam the milk, which I find lovely. The people who work there are super friendly (not to mention ubercool). Every single food item that I've tried - mixed green salad, turkey ruben, ham and cheese sandwich, yogurt, granola and berries - it's all delicious! Thank goodness for 88 Orchard - without which, my NYTimes reading would not be as enjoyable.

Lucky to live close by
I just moved to the neighborhood and was greeted so nicely by the staff here. They asked my name and really took the time to welcome me to the neighborhood. The coffee is amazing. I now make it my morning stop and they already know exactly how I like my coffee. I am not sure what the other reviewer was talking about because there are no servers here- but everyone I have met so far is awesome. The food is tasty and fresh and it is an all around great place!

Great food, poor service
88 Orchard has great food, but the service is poor. I live in the neighborhood and continue to go because there is no other place around. Expect to wait a while, and hope the servers acknowledge you.

Great coffee and so much more
I came in to 88 Orchard for the first time since it moved into the neighborhood a few years ago. What a gem I've been missing! The service was friendly and the staff was well informed about the products used in the food. I had the curried chicken salad with currants and mango and my friend had the turkey sandwich with pine nuts and brie. We shared because both were incredibly delicious and fresh! The vibe is relaxed with a unique mix of music and the walls are beautifully decorated in interesting art by local artists. I didn't want to leave this cozy haven. Check out the downstairs for extra table seating alongside a pillow covered banquet- a great space to curl up with your lap top or book (they have wifi). I highly recommend the coffee- it's rich and expertly brewed. Think Italy, not Starbucks! What a treasure for the neighborhood.

This place is awesome
A great place to hang out and relax- read a magazine- free wifi- staff is unbelievably nice. Sandwiches are great and reasonably priced. Coffee ice cubes for iced coffee such a great idea. The outdoor seating, while limited, is a nice addition. Can't say enough good things about this place. I feel like I am home when I am here!
