The waitress needed some Red Bull

The service was terrible! I went for lunch and there were guests at only two other tables. You would have thought the place was packed and the waitress was dying of exhaustion. When I asked a couple of questions about some menu items she stared off into space and managed to utter a few words. When I asked for a drink menu you would have thought she had to climb Mt. Everest to get it. A 15% gratuity was included in the bill, I felt like crossing it out. The food was not anything I would go back for. I could have gotten the same thing at any hole in the wall restaurant. Big dissapointment.

    A great time

We went for a family birthday dinner of my sister and it was great. The food was well made and beautifully presented for very reasonable prices. The restaurant staff was very friendly and accomadating. A great place to go if you can quality latin food in plush surroundings.

Love the food but sometimes inconsistent

i have been to 809 more then 7 times each time I go its a different experience. I really enjoy the food however the taste and menu are always changing. I alway eat the mojo verde shrimp and sometimes I get (6) small shrimp, another time i got (4) big shrimp. Some days the sauce is light green others dark. I recommend this resturant. However I remmond the resturant stay consistent.

    Not worth the visit..

Pros: -Sangria was excellent -Tres Leches cake was also good Cons: -Lunch menu was very limited (didn't have the combo-sampler appetizer or the dish where you bbq your own meat on a fire..). -Only provided a menu in spanish -Only a small fraction of the items on the menu were actually available to be ordered. -Aroz con Pollo (Rice and Chicken) had the driest/hardest chicken you've ever had..just couldn't eat it. If you're going to go there, stick to the Sangria or try going at night when perhaps the menu is a bit more comprehensive.

    WOW! Tasty AND Classy

My boyfriend and I went on a dinner date and it was great! We ordered 2 sirloins with 2 sides and an avocado sald, and OMG was that steak good. Not only was the food great, but it was beautifully served as well. Very nice food presentation. This is definitely somewhere I'd recommend. Very impressive. Especially for the inwood area. Great service.

    Fabulous dinner spot

I have eaten at 809 several times and I have only good things to say about it. The food is great and artfully plated, and the service is excellent as well. It may be just a little overpriced... but it is worth it. Moreover if you go on a weekend night, you can go up to the club after dinner at no extra charge and dance (if you're not too stuffed). The atmosphere is laid-back and beautifully decorated, too- I recommend 809 to anyone and everyone.
