Mashed potatoes from a box, are you kidding me.
My wife and I had the Pre fixe menu at Old Fulton "thanks Livingsocial". We eat at the bar, thank god because the bartender was great but the waitress couldn't even tell us about the wine that came with our dinner. We ask if it was dry and she told us its very nice everyone likes it. The pasta was good and we liked the mussels, but my steak and mushrooms came with mashed potatoes from a box. If that's the only way you can serve mashed potatoes at your restaurant then just don't serve mashed potatoes. I really don't understand how a chef could let a plate leave his kitchen with fake potatoes. Call Gordon Ramsey this kitchen needs help.

Day was going great until we went here for lunch. Sat outside because it was a gorgeous day and the outdoor area was quaint looking. Took 45 mins for our order to come. And then the food was meh! Scallops were overcooked and there were only 4 small ones. The busboys were hardworking and attentive but the waiters and waitresses couldn't be bothered. You're better off getting something from one of the stands on the pier.

Gorgeous place, poorly sized portions.
We took our one year old daughter to DUMBO on a beautiful Sunday. Took the ferry over and went to the carousel. It was a perfect day until we had lunch at 7 Old Fulton. The ambience is wonderful! They have a lovely patio which would be very romantic on a summer evening. The staff was great! Very accommodating with a highchair and shaded table for our toddler. The problem was the food. The quality was great but the quantity was poor! We got two sandwiches....chicken & vegetables and prosciutto & mozzarella. They arrived on a homemade ciabatta. The amount of ingredients to fill the sandwich was so sparse that it was comical....think of an airport sandwich where there is a small piece of chicken lost in a giant roll. The sandwiches were only $7, but we felt so cheated. It wasn't what we expected when we sat down at this gorgeous restaurant. I beg that the owners see this and act immediately. My husband and I both agreed that if they drastically improve the filling size of the sandwiches (can't speak for the rest of the menu) that they could become a great restaurant...a place that people talk about and journey to....a destination. They have got it almost right. The place looks great! The menu reads very well. The food quality is dead on. Please just fix the filling to bread ratio in the sandwiches and where ever else the dishes may be skimpy. The best of luck!
