    Meh....

My wife and a few friends went for dinner the other night. The food was good...not great. Se had the steak which she loved and I had the pizza with goat cheese. I wish I could have been more upset about the overpriced mac and cheese side...but i couldnt because it was amazing. Service was slow but whatever...we werent in a hurry. Nice atmosphere too. Will go back.

    I love it!

This has become one of my favorite neighborhood spots. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. I haven't had anything I didn't enjoy. They do interesting, fun specials like half-priced burger nights and oyster happy hour. The atmosphere is - as someone else here wrote - "industrial chic" they have an old chocolate machine of some kind in the dining area. The staff is friendly and attentive. The only thing that I've noticed is weird is that they frequently play crappy R&B and weirdly bland pop music, especially at brunch. However, I was there for dinner a few weeks ago and they had a pretty good DJ.

    Poor brunch!

The food was tasteless, the staff was friendly but slow. The place is cute though...but I wouldn't wanna go back.

    Serious cuisine in Greenpoint

68 doubles as a relaxed haut-ish cuisine place and what has become a Greenpoint neighborhood necessity. The location and decor scream industrial chic, while the food, although not having a regional focus, is good and consistent. Entrees are very reasonable, I have enjoyed all their seafood-based dishes. Appetizers seem to be hit or miss: the Champagne Pate appetizer (which seemed more like a terrine) was particularly disappointing. The wine list is well-suited to the food and has many options under $30. The wait staff is pleasant but doesn't seem able to answer questions about what they're supposed to be selling. Even if the restaurant has a few kinks to work out, it is still well worth checking out!

    Good, could be great

I dined at 68 and thought the food was quite good. Even though the were basically out of everything on the menu I wanted. The food I was able to order was very tasty. They did also keep us cramped into the front of the restaurant when there was apparently a lot of space in the back which is slightly annoying. I guess because they were understaffed as well. Their is a lot of potential here. I'll be back.
