Local food, local beer and wines!!

I passed this place a few weeks ago and filed it for future reference. Had occasion to go today and LOVED it! Great, cool atmosphere, friendly service and local purveyors. The menu is very interesting and a lot of thought was put into it. Quite a few choices and all sounded good. I had an open faced sandwich (under "Toasts") with smoked goat cheese, spicy tomato sauce, topped with rosemary and fresh chives. My husband had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich--both were yummy. I had a very good cup of coffee (french press) with a delicious raisin-bourbon cookie from Scratchbread. Terrific local beer and wine selections. Will definitely go back! A bit "hidden" and I think they should put a sign on the building that you could see from Smith Street.

    A true public house!

This place is one of my favorites in the city. It feels like a huge house that belongs to the entire neighborhood. It's a great place to hang out during the day and at night. It has awesome vibe that can range from chill to romantic to a huge house party on the weekends. The lighting and woodwork alone are worth a visit. And with the best in locally crafted beer, wine, coffee, soda, kombucha and small plates - I could definitely live here.

    love this place

I'm so happy I stumbled into this place. Great addition to the neighborhood. The menu items my bf and I tried were really tasty - the "Hamster" sandwich, the ricotta bread, pickles and the spicy nuts were all delicious. I don't remember the names of the beers we tried but they were great too. They let us sample several before ordering. Just remember to bring some cash! We could've stayed much longer had we known. Can't wait to go back!
