5 Napkin Burger

I'd been avoiding this seemingly pretentious place like the plague since its opening. It seemed filled with all the types of people I can't stand to be around. But every time I walked by everyone looked so happy with their food! It was like I was being called by the Sirens to join then in the deep blue below... But I successfully resisted...until I was dining with a friend who has Celiac Disease. He really wanted a burger and knew that 5NB had ones that wouldn't kill him. So I put on my best 'tude jacket and we went. The lamb burger was tear inspiringly amazing. The 5NB Original made me call my mama and smack her over the phone. Once she took a whiff of what caused the assault, she turned around and smacked my papa. The fries are excellent (get some aoili on the side for dipping). We were plenty full and had no room for dessert. But I plan to try it again on a splurge day :-) Were a lot of the clientele pretentious? Yes. But its the epicenter of Hell's Kitchen. But the important thing is that the staff weren't pretentious, bitchy, or judgemental. They were great about accommodating my friend's gluten-free needs. They were SWAMPED but things came out relatively and cooked perfectly to order. SOOO....GO ALREADY!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOWWW!!!!!!! You can thank me later :-)

5 Napkin's Original Burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had. The rosemary aioli and gruyere cheese add to the unique flavor. I highly recommend the Chocolate & Peanut Butter milkshake and the Smores milkshake. They are quite possibly addicting. 5 Napkin is a "must" on my to-do list with visitors.

What on earth is all the hype about this horrible restaurant? The bacon cheeseburger and tuna burger were both bland. The fries were soggy and flavorless and get our vote for some of the worst in the city. The onion rings were maybe the only decent thing we ordered apart from the Pelligrino. Oh yeah and the service was abysmal. Prices were ridiculous. Obviously we will never set foot in there again.

The food was o.k, small portions, the service - not good. All hype for this place.

The food here is really worth the hype! I loved it. I usually try and go looking for a deal before I head out to dinner though so I spent a little more than normal.

We had an amazing time at 5 Napkin. Our waitress was great. The food was awesome. I'd love to go back the next time I'm in NYC.

Real fresh and juicy spicy salmon rolls, really enjoyed them there!
