    Not recommended

My girlfriend took me to 5 & diamond to celebrate my graduation from residency. I had heard that the burger was good and since I have tried almost every other "great" NYC burger I figured I needed to try this one. My girlfriend ordered the striped bass. After waiting for what seemed like forever for the meals to come out they finally arrived. We told the waitress that something didn't seem right with the fish and the owner quickly came over. The owner took the dish away and brought it back to the kitchen. She came back told us that everyone in the kitchen tried the fish and that she agreed that the dish tasted very "fishy" but unfortunately that is what the dish is supposed to taste like. The owner apologized and then left our table to attend to what seemed like more important customers sitting at the bar. We were ready to leave at this point but they told us dessert was on them. After dessert, the waitress brought us our bill and not only was the striped bass still on the bill, but so was the dessert! We were charged for the dessert that we didn't want in the first place. Needless to say we will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. On a side note, the burger is average at best with below average fries.

Finally an excellent Harlem choice...but too expensive

Food was excellent, but a bit too overpriced. They need to lower each entree by a few dollars so this can become a regular spot. I lived on smith street in brooklyn and comparable restaraunts were way cheaper which just meant that we frequented them more often.

    Terrific Dinner!

Just had a terrific dinner on Saturday night! And, I would not say the food is overpriced. I had the striped bass and the "hubbie" had a Rib stew along with the most amazing mac and cheese. Our waiter was knowledgeable and suggested a wine that paired beautifully with my meal. I look forward to dining here again and again! A welcome addition for discerning palates.

    Decent add to the Nabe

Went to this resturant a couple weeks ago. Food was pretty good; my dining companions also enjoyed their orders. Service was good -- the waiter was friendly as was one of the owners. It's expensive. Especially wine. Won't go there often but will go back.

    WAY overpriced

I know everyone's really psyched to have a truly gourmet restaurant in the neighborhood, and I am too, however if I wanted to pay these kinds of prices I'd get on the subway and head downtown to overpay. It's really unfortunate that this restaurant can't find a more attractive price-point. My date and I both agreed that had everything been just a few dollars cheaper, we'd probably eat there once or twice a week, but as it stands, its unlikely we'll be back for anything but a special occasion, if that. Please, chef Skeen, lower the prices a bit. Especially the wine.

    Date night with the Wife

We drove from Trumbull CT, which was a 90 min drive. Service was attentive. I had the steak and my wife had the bass. Whilst the food was good it was not outstanding. For the price we have had better. Probably would not revisit again.

    Average Average And over priced

Food was pretty good, service was boring but fairly quick. The decor needs some work, the walls are really plain.
