Decent add to the Nabe
Went to this resturant a couple weeks ago. Food was pretty good; my dining companions also enjoyed their orders. Service was good -- the waiter was friendly as was one of the owners. It's expensive. Especially wine. Won't go there often but will go back.

WAY overpriced
I know everyone's really psyched to have a truly gourmet restaurant in the neighborhood, and I am too, however if I wanted to pay these kinds of prices I'd get on the subway and head downtown to overpay. It's really unfortunate that this restaurant can't find a more attractive price-point. My date and I both agreed that had everything been just a few dollars cheaper, we'd probably eat there once or twice a week, but as it stands, its unlikely we'll be back for anything but a special occasion, if that. Please, chef Skeen, lower the prices a bit. Especially the wine.

Date night with the Wife
We drove from Trumbull CT, which was a 90 min drive. Service was attentive. I had the steak and my wife had the bass. Whilst the food was good it was not outstanding. For the price we have had better. Probably would not revisit again.

Average Average And over priced
Food was pretty good, service was boring but fairly quick. The decor needs some work, the walls are really plain.

Real Manhattan Restaurant in Harlem
I have lived in Harlem for over 8 years and been to every single restaurant south of 125th street and north of 110th street. 5&Diamond is the very first real Manhattan Restaurant with excellent service, cool decor and very, very good food. The quail salad was crisp and fresh, the caprese was full of wonderful flavor and the salmon danced in my mouth. The selection of wines and beers is full of interesting choices and the prices are totally adequate for a restaurant of such caliber. Can't wait to go back there this Friday night!

Overpriced
5 & Diamond is a trendy new restaurant in South Harlem. The food was good, but not outstanding, granted I dined here less than a week after its opening (3/18/10). The roasted beets were delicious, but the burger was average. Nice decor, good service, great wine selection, although expensive wines by glass ($13). Glad to have it in the neighborhood, but I'm pretty sure it would be more successful if it were a bit less expensive.
