Unfriendly service
Poor food and unfriendly service. I would not go there again.

Not Recommended
This food is below average. The curries for the chicken dishes are lackluster, and are void of rich and pungent taste. The rice is mediocre, and the vegetables are frozen, and are not acoompanies by flavorful sauces. The samosa's had no taste. Yep, I spent $12 on lunch and threw it in the trash bin.

Excellent food, new welcome addition
This is a new branch of the existing legendary MINAR near Times Square and Empire State buidling. The food is just as great - but be warned, this is the smallest of the locations - absolutely nowhere to sit barring a few stools, so only really for takeout or delivery. I tried the corriander chicken (cilantro) which is a special on Friday only - with the Aloo Dum (potato curry) - aboslutely amazing. Have to check out their delivery as I live and work in the neighborhood. Service is a problem as with the other locations (miserly portions, gruff demeanour) but the excellent food more than makes up for it.

Insane Food Do not eat here
Being an Indian I know what the food should taste like and what is fresh food. People this place serves stale food, the yogurt is atleast 3-4 days old with a bad smell. The Nann which is served smells bad and the vegetables are the cheap throw away stuff which they cook into the curry.

Good food and service
We got to the restaurant a half-hour before opening on a very hot day and they saw my parents wilting and let us in. We waited in the very clean seating area until the food was ready. The staff understood our South Asian fondness for raw onions and chillies as an accompaniment for rice and curry. The food was quite authentic and reasonably priced. The dosa may not be as crisp as that of Saravanabhavan in Little India but is quite decent, cheaper and saves a ride to lex and 26th.

The best Tandoori Chicken at $7.95
There has been a tremendous improvement in the taste of curry and tandoori entres. Avoid South indian items. Curry Pakoda , Lamb Curry and chicken vindaloo is a must
