... food complaints--why? you don't go there for that
You go for the cute boys! The food is fine, the drinks are even better, and you don't go to 44&X for the food, you go for the great evening atmosphere and the really hot waiters.

They've Got To Be Kidding!
The food here is perfectly decent if unexceptional, but at these prices I expect a lot more (and you can get much better food at better prices elsewhere in the neighborhood, starting with Esca, around the corner. If the prices were $10 less, 44 & X would pass muster as a pleasant enough neighborhood place, but as it stands this is one of the great rip-off places on the West Side.

Bad, bad, bad
This is possibly the worst service I've had in NY. We had a reservation and waited an hour for a table. Once we sat down, we didn't see a waiter for another 20 minutes. When we had to ask for wine three times. The food was edible, but at these prices I would expect much more! Spend your money elsewhere.

Love, love, love
Have been here a few times and each time the food is amazing and the staff is so nice! We have sat outside for brunch with our dogs and inside for dinner and everything is always great. Will keep coming back!

not good
Met friends here for brunch, and had never been. Really cute restaurant, great atmosphere, friendly staff... and that's about it. All the brunch dishes we ordered were covered in grease with undercooked eggs and burnt sausage. And slooooooooooooow service. Waiter would disappear for 20 minutes at a time, which made getting the check and getting to the theatre on time impossible. Good dessert, but paying over a hundred dollars for a 4 person brunch, I don't expect to leave grossed-out and still hungry... which I was.

Breakfast... er, Brunch Of Champions
Friends and I recently discovered this place and have made it a regular brunch spot. Bright, airy space... best western omelette I've ever had, and ridiculously good (if, yes, overpriced) drinks. We've never failed to have a blast here.

Go for brunch
Brunch here was fabulous. It was absolutely delicious. I'd recommend going early though (ie-before noon) because then it gets really packed. That's the only down side. Even with a reservation we had to wait over 30 mins to be seated.
