My sister and niece came into town for a day from PA. I looked for something special close to the bus terminal. 44 1/2's menu looked great on line. We were not disappointed. Two of us had the house salad - the dressing is light and refreshing. My niece had the warm goat chesse salad and was very happy with her choice. For dinner one had the pasta with basil, one pork medallions and I had the special talapia. The talapia was superb! It was on a bed of thinly sliced potatoes, spinach both full of flavor with pomegranate infusion on the side. The dishes were beautifully presented and good to the last bite. We didn't have time for dessert so I am definitely going back. The decor - pink in places- is perfect for a romantic evening and on warmer evening I would like to sit in their outdoor garden in the back. You should make the trip.

Went to the restaurant on Sunday night for a late dinner with a guest who travels a lot. We were both impressed by the meals we had and the atmosphere. The menu while providing a narrower range of choices makes sure you will find something you will like but and is both well thought out and inventive. The space (while being across from a gas station) is attractive and done predominantly in a black and white motif with a little bit of a 50's flair. The patio out back was beautiful and would be a great place to gather in good weather. Service was friendly and just a little bit playfully sassy which kind of mirrors the spirit of the menu and neighborhood it's in. Only flaw was the vino was removed with still some wine left in the bottle, but maybe the server didn't have good night vision. Overall kudos!

I heard about this place from a friend of mine, and decided to try it out. I walked in and immediately felt very welcomed and at home. The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing with a very warm feeling, not to menion the very attractive wait staff who all shoot you winning smiles as you walk in. Our very cute blonde waiter was extremely knowledgable about the menu and reccommended the perfect wine to compliment our entrees. The food was delicious, the service, excellent, and the atmosphere was quite astounding. I've eaten at at least 1,000 restaurants in New York, and I must say, this place has the best overall package in the city!

Perfect spot for a relaxing breakfast or lunch with friends, clients, etc. The decor is trendy w/o being overdone, and the outdoor garden is great on a nice spring/summer day. Food was delicious and the staff couldn't be nicer. Highly recommended and don't miss the fresh baked cookies!
