    my favorite

I've been going to 41 Greenwich since I "discovered it" in March 2008. The food is wonderful, veggies never overdone, fish perfect, salads amazing, etc. The staff and service have been warm, friendly and impeccable. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

    Good food, "eh" service

The food is better than "good" that's for sure, but the name of the restaurant may reflect more on the service. It was cordial, but not hospitable. The hostess bristled when I asked not to be seated next to the door (there were only 7 other diners and many empty tables, I thought it was fair) and proceeded to seat us at the worst table in the nearly-empty place, next to the kitchen. Our waiter was very good and friendly but turned cold when I asked him to honor the dinner special advertised on the website, letting me know it was our fault for not telling him earlier and would put him out of his way to fix it. We bit the bullet and the extra $75.

    welcoming!

I don't get downtown to eat to much, but my friends in the west village has been hounding us to get together and try out their favorite spot. We did it, and was well worth the wait. So inviting, friendly and warm. We had a round of drinks that were tasty and interesting. I followed with a tasty tuna tartare and a grilled veal chop(nightly special). I dipped into the cod my friend was having with a tasty soy and ginger sauce. We also got a lobster mac n cheese for the table. Everything was delightful, the atmosphere great, so much so the four of us were there for over three hours. Even if you don't live downtown make the trek to what seems like a diamond in the rough.

    Home Sweet Home

Went to 41 last night for dinner with my girlfriend. Its a small place (10 tables) but very very cozy. It actually feels like your at someones house eating. Servers were very polite and attentive. The owner walked around and was talking to the guests all night. If you go, and you should, try the crab cakes. probably the best I've ever had. There served on some green with a chutney on top. For desert try Plum Sorbet or the Killer Chocolate Ice cream if available. I can't say enough good things about this place. It really is a hidden gem. This is a great place to take a date. They also had some great music playing. Some nice soulful jazz....Etta James..etc Check it out and you won't be disappointed. Not sure why some gave negative reviews. We dine out alot and 41 Greenwich is excellent. Make a reservation ahead of time to ensure you get a table.

    Great Food and Atmosphere

I loved this restaurant. It was full of local residents, and the owners make you feel at home. The salmon is awesome and the Burgers are the absolute best. I also love it that it's not a "scene"...

    Not good at all!!

The atmosphere wasn't good at all. the food wasn't impressive either. We ordered the mac and cheese, which tasted like milk and butter. I had the day special, halibut, it was under seasoned, over cooked and just BAD. It came with sauteed spinach that were undercooked, to salty and it was just salt and garlic. Drinks were ok but not amazing. Totally over priced for the food we got. We should've figured the place was bad once we got to the place and it was empty. Total waste of our money.

    Service sooooo slow

I like this place it's such a great alternative to the Waverly Inns and Cafe Cluny's in the neighborhood. The food is solid and the hamburger ranks among the best in the city. But it takes an ETERNITY for the food to arrive. There's no reason that you should have to wait almost an hour for a hamburger to cook, especially when there are literally no other diners present at the time, but this is what can happen. If they served the food faster this place would truly be an undiscovered gem. They are very nice here, too. Just S-L-O-W.
