    Subpar

We used to take out from this diner almost every Friday. Prices have been raised dramatically and the portions have been significantly decreased. They charged me for one pickle and would only give me 1 packet of ketchup!! Service was slow and could not communicate well. It took 10 minutes to put in a phone order and we had to wait for the food in additional 20 minutes after they said it would be ready. I suggest picking a differnent diner as we will never EVER go back.

    Poor NYC dining experience

Went for breakfast and it was unpleasant. Even the coffee was poor. Service was slow and inattentive. Food was just inedible. Pancakes were undercooked and gloopy, I couldn't eat them. The waiter didn't even ask me if there was a problem when he picked up my untouched plate of pancakes. I would absolutely avoid this place!

    Not recommended

Had a lunch there and ordered london broil sandwich. food is unappetizing. meat was soaked in vinegar and tasted sour and there was some stuff thinly spread overt the meat. it looked not very appetizing. when i told the waiter that the food was not edible he asked what i wanted to do about it. i asked not to be charged $13.95 for this sandwich, but no such luck. even the bread was not edible because the meat left a very unpleasant taste on the bread as well. bottomline is - don't eat there.

    Can't Beat This Place

If you're seeking atmosphere and intimate dining with a featured wine list, this is not your spot. If youi're looking for a clean, well-managed place with a good menu and great diner food, this is it. You can eat as healthy or otherwise as you like. Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner are all reasonably priced and everything on the menu is good. Try the grilled wrap with chicken and greek flavors. Servings are generous. If you're on a budget, you can't beat this place.

We recently spent a 5 day vacation in New York and breakfasted twice at 38.Being from England this is a new dining experience and I found the place through menu pages. We were not disappointed..terrific value for money and generous portions..the omelettes were exceptional

    Cozy Cozy Cozy

38th st has been one of my favorite eateries in midtown since it opened. Great food, great services and the low prices have me eating there all the time. It is very welcoming and friendly, even if you had never been there before it would feel like it was your very own neighborhood diner.

    Where everybody knows your name!

It's the most comfortable place to eat aside from your own diningroom. You are welcomed the moment you walk in the door and are treated like family.
