    Worth a try!

We get our breakfasts here and while some may feel $6.65 for scrambled eggs, fries and toast with a large coffee is no deal, in this neighborhood, its worth it. The food is consistant,- the help is not. For example: We have ordered chicken gyros only to receive BEEF and when we call to have them correct the order, unless we get the owner, we prepare for an argument about their product- we tell them its beef (its dark)- they insist its chicken (which is white)- until you get them to ask the cook who is honest and will tell them they made a "regular beef gyro". While that would make most people stop ordering from them, they are the quickest delivery place around here and since we're already prepared tor mistakes, we tolerate it.

    Yum and Yum

This restaurant is what some New Yorkers call "a diner", but I gotta tell you I've been to some 3 star restaurants whose quality of food and service couldn't come close to the 3 Star Coffe Shop. The variety on the menu is excellent as well. I hope they stay in the neighborhood, they're practically "landmark" status. Try them, even just for coffee and a bagel and become a new patron.

    Old-School New York Coffee Shop

This is the kind of coffee shop that's quickly dying out in New York City, and that's a shame. The spinach pie and Greek salad surpassed my expectations, and it's always a dependable place for brunch or a late-night snack. The fries have gotten noticeably less tasty since the trans-fat ban went into effect, though...

    Great Neighborhood Diner

I love stopping here to read the paper and have coffee on my way through the park. Great comfort food and really nice waitstaff. My only complaint is that it's hard to linger because they try to turn over tables so fast.

    Tasty breakfast!

I had breakfast here earlier this week -- ordered corned beef hash and scrambled eggs -- and I really enjoyed it. There was nothing particularly exciting or new about the food, but it was tasty indeed. Not greasy, not dry, very flavorful, and a decent portion. The atmosphere and service were fine. I will certainly return next time I'm in the neighborhood at breakfast-time.

    A resounding "eh"

I don't know about their breakfast, but their lunch food is barely average, by diner standards of course. Burger was a frozen burger patty competently cooked served on an unusually Wonderbread-y bun, OK diner fries. Grilled cheese was pretty much the same idea. Certainly nothing to actually recommend it other than proximity, and rave-worthy? Compared to what I ask, with a great deal of trepidation! Service was friendly and as attentive as necessary.
