Best Deli in the World. Period.

2nd Ave Deli continues to make the best sandwiches out there. I could eat there every night for two weeks and not get sick of it.

    Requiem for a lost deli

Ah, for the old 2nd Ave. I don't know what happened, but it's just not as good anymore. Not as moist and delicious, that's for sure.

    Expensive..but not too bad!

I guess the only good thing is Kosher.. the food is not bad at all..but rather pricey.

    why?

after reading the glorious reviews in the times i thought why not try a different deli on my next trip yo the city. I sat at the counter wondering where the gribinous were. we don't have them on tuesday, who knew. I ordered a hot pastrami on whole wheat. after arriving on rye i asked for the whole wheat again. The sandwich was removed , about fifteen minutes passed when the whole wheat absolutely cold pastrami showed up. I ate three bites , asked for another and was told too bad . they were sorry i wasn't happy. I can only say ,save your money and go to a real new york deli.

    Nothing like the original

I went with my family a few months ago after it first opened. To begin with, they pack you in like sardines. There was literally no room to move. We had to climb around another table to sit down or to get up and use the bathroom. The portions are also smaller. The sandwich must be half the size of the ones in the old restaurant. I asked for lean corned beef and it was very fatty. Also, I was annoyed with the price of a can of soda... $2.50? Seriously, that's just adding insult to injury. I probably would not go back unless I had out of town guests visiting and they asked to go there.

    Fuggedaboutit

The owner & staff had an attitude problem The stuff cabbage @ 10.50 a roll housed tough meat & raw ricetasty sauce tho. Soup salted like brine -matzoh ball just ok. The pastrami was dry Glad it was not as filled as in the ORIGINAL deli. No wonder we had no line//

    This deli rules!

I have been reading all of the reviews on menu pages, and you know what? They are all wrong! This place has the best corn beef, pastrami and brisket I have ever tasted! I am concerned about great value, and belive me this place is worth it. Every time I eat there, Im overly impressed with what ever I order...sit at the counter! Thank you for reopening an american standard of great deli!
