Not only is this food way way overpriced even for kosher food the quality is sub par. Tremendous prices, very poor quality. You can only get by on your name for so long. My family and friends meal was terrible.

I used to frequent the original 2nd Ave Deli and it was amazing. Then their new location was OK. I was so excited when they were opening on the UES and then I went in..... The prices are inexcusable, but more so, the food is not what it used to be. The gribenes was lacking onions and was way overdone, the chopped liver was dry, the chopped eggs and onions was not only greasy but tasted like it was sitting around for a while. This was such a great place, why are you ruining it?

Second Avenue Deli used to be the Pearl of Jewish Delis in NY. I am sorry to say such is no longer the case. I gave the New Upper East Side Location 3 trys -- each time was worse then the next. The bread was stale, you had to beg for pickles and the pastrami fatty and cheap. (Try Pastrami Queen and make the comparison your self) Why the new digs are nice and remind your of what the old original Second Aven deli used to be avoid the food at this place place. In this economy there is nothing more disappointing then paying for bad food and so far this is not up to par.

$4.95 for a hot dog must be a mistake- should be at least $7.95 judging by the rest of the prices- outrageous-why not serve a junior portion of sandwiches at least at lunch time(patrons will live longer) I honestly cannot come in too often at those prices and if the rest of the neighborhood feels the same they have a problem in spite of the good food.

I want to eat this for dinner every night, might need to buy a bigger belt. The food is that good. The matza ball soup I had last night was piping hot and a truly a thing of beauty. The pastrami is the best in the whole city. The renovation they did on the space is spectacular with a tin ceiling. The staff is very upscale compared to the original establishment.

I was here on opening day and I have a lot of love for this place and for the family who run it. They are great people and the food kicks ass! The only thing they should do to increase their business is bring the prices down a bit. In this "fun" economy that we're all in I think they would bring in more business if they weren't so expensive. They would have a bigger crowd in there late at night if they make the prices more reasonable I'm just sayin!
