    Cheap good dim sum

Love it, Have been several times recently having tired of jing fong, main stay for many locals, crowded on weekends due to unbeatable $2 dim sum, congested due to crowds near entrance but moves quickly before noon and after 2 pm, jing fong has 5 times more room (& noise) but is double to triple this price on weekends, dimsum served on carts, other items can be ordered, heavily accented English spoken,

Your run of the mill dim sum joint. No fantastic variety, mundane dishes (har gow, shu mai, etc) usual add-ons (choysum, clams, black bean ribs) Fresh mostly--try not to grab cold lower level choices not scooped up on first go around. Smaller place so every table gets fair share. $39 for 3 people with several non-dim sum add-ons--fair price. Crowded but only 5 minute wait on Sunday noon.

    Dim sum darling

This is the new incarnation of that glorious dim sum standby HSF. There doesn't seem to be a dim sum menu per se, as before...you just point, or tell the waiter if you know the name of what you want. The makeover is kind of fusty, where HSF was clean, so I don't like that. And the service station is right out in the middle of the room, also annoying. But the har gow (shrimp in rice paper wraps) and char siu bao (roast BBQ pork in fluffy white buns) are as sublime as always...nice to still have them around. I just wish they had more dim sum choices and that the place wasn't so stuffy-feeling. But I usually do takeout anyway, so no matter.
