    Great Place

I've been here on several occasions with both large and small groups of people and it's been a great experience everytime. For the price, the food is very good. The onion soup is some of the best in town.

    Wonderful and Affordable French Food!

This restaurant is wonderful. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced (decent portions). The staff is super nice and friendly. It's a great place for a cozy romantic dinner or a big get together with friends. I would highly recommend.

    Wonderful Experience

My husband and I went to 26 Seats for dinner and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. They welcomed us to take a table even though they hadn't started serving dinner yet. The waitress was extremely personable and knowledgeable and the food was excellent (I had the pate and steak) for an excellent value. I recommend the restaurant and we intend to return soon.

Great restaurant for 2 -- go early

I've been here at least a dozen times. It is best to go before 7:30 or it will be too crowded (at least for my taste). If you go a bit early, you will get fresher food and better service and less noise. I like the steak and keep coming back for it. I wish they has more beer choices but that's a minor criticism. Some folks seem to be expected high-end service but that is not what this East Village restaurant is promising. The prices are reasonable, the ambiance is nice, and the food is French.

    Overrated

The only thing going for this restauraunt is its intimate setting. The food is average and the service sub par. Wine list is poor as well. I just don't see what all the fuss is about.

Great place for a cozy dinner for two...

I've been coming to 26 Seats for a few years now and have never been disappointed. My boyfriend took me here for my last birthday, it was his first time eating here, and he was very impressed. The food is delicious. The menu consists of well-prepared regional French dishes, not the usual NY bistro fare. And the prices are amazing. It's so affordable to eat here. We each had an appetiser and an entree plus a bottle of wine for $80. I would highly recommend it- although not a great place for groups. Very tight seating, but very charming. I will continue to come back.

    Disappointed

Cozy is one thing, but this place was just plain uncomfortable. We had to stand during our dinner at least three times so others could sit. Service was OK. Food was nothing special. In short I would not recommend or return.
