Nothing special; poor service.
I live nearby and my girlfirend and I decided to try this place after reading the positive reviews on this website. We went on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not busy -- we were noticed when we walked in but ignored. Overall our waiter did not seem happy to serve us. Although the food was quite good (we both had the meatloaf), since we felt unwelcome we won't go back.

Good little spot, will go back
We had heard good things about this new soho restaurant but never expected to get such good value in the city. We enjoyed everything from apps to the cocktails. The service was helpfull and place was comfortable.

Comfortable space with comfort food
Great new nolita restaurant. Enjoyed the service, music, food, and wine topped off with value. Can't wait to come back and try the fried chicken and pp & j ice cream sandwich.

Great
the server was very friendly and helpful. the atmosphere was amazing, and the banana bread pudding was one the best desserts that i've ever had.

Awesome
AWESOME! That's all I have to say... Alright I will say more but awesome is the perfect word to describe 24 prince. I have never written a review for a restaurant before but after eating here, I had to. The food was great. I had those mac n cheese spring rolls which were out of this world. My friend had the pigs in a blanket and she loved them. I don't know many restaurants that serve pigs in a blanket... the restaurants should, but they don't. 24 prince does. And for dessert, we had the PB&J special. WOW. And not only was the food and service great, but the whole ambiance was cool. Just like the food, the decor and feel in the restaurant is very comforting and homey. Trust me, this place is AWESOME!

Cute new restaurant, but long wait
We had an enjoyable dinner at 24 Prince, which was recommended to us by a friend who lives right next door. However, until the restaurant starts taking reservations (if it ever does), expect a long wait on a weekend night, especially at dinner "rush hour." We showed up around 8:20 and waited until after 9:30 to be seated, despite being told that our wait would be 30-40 minutes. The bartender generously bought us a drink because of our wait, which was a nice gesture. The food is good, not spectacular. The appetizers are better than the entrees, so you might consider splitting lots of apps. and skipping the main course. Dessert was not as good as other reviews suggested. It's worth a try, but I would consider going mid-week.

On target & will get better
The NY Times under $25 got it right. The meatloaf was very, very good in the puff pastry with the homemade bbq sauce, very good & light mashed potatoes & a nicely sauteed wilted greens. The fried chicken was supposed to be half a chicken, but was just 2-pieces, good, but not great, but very good. The salads were well prepared and the desserts were a pleasure. The apple crisp w/cheddar cheese ice cream with the pie does work & the white chocolate ice cream on a very serviceable flourless chocolate cake was good. The wines by the glass need work, but there are some good choices by the bottle. The beer selection was short, but on target. The waitress had a pulse, we think, but knew little and was ready for her shift at the GAP. The place is five weeks old & will get better. Service, service.....we will go back.
