    Friendly Little Secret

Nolita, for all its great food, can be a tough place to enjoy yourself. Rude guests, snobby servers, and high prices add up to risky dining experiences. But 24 Prince is a rare treat. We went early on a Friday in order to make it to a movie after dinner. The host was gracious, the server was helpful, the wine list was more than adequate, the food was tasty if not mind-blowing. The Southern-slash-midcentury decor is cheerful without being kitschy, and steers well clear of the pretensious Starck-inflected norm of the neighborhood. The meal service felt efficient, neither rushed nor agonizingly slow. The maccaroni and cheese lives up to its reputation, and the PB&J ice cream sandwich is, in fact, a true delight. And perhaps the most satisfying part--after-dinner coffee only $2. For once I left a restaurant not feeling as if I'd been mugged at the end of the meal.

    Great Brunch

I decided to try out brunch at my newest favorite neighborhood spot today. It was just as enjoyable as the many dinner meals I have had there. My girlfriend had the waffles and berries, which was so sweet it could easily double as a dessert. I had the crab cake benedict which was fantastic. Also, the bread basket was perfect.

    Flavorless, Ill-Conceived Food

Dining at 24 Prince on a busy Thursday night, my friend and I were frankly disappointed at the food we were served. Not only was the flavor of the food mediocre at best, but the culinary choices made by the chef are just wrong-headed. The steak in the steak frites was flavorless and the bernaise sauce served with it equally flavorless. The fingerling potato chips in the fish and chips are not fries as they should be, but a poor attempt at american-style thin chips, bland and soggy. The most confusing bit of the dinner was the taco-shell bowl on which our ceasar salads were served which tasted disturbingly like Doritos. We will not be back.

Has its moments but def worth a try

Ate here on a wednesday night which was quiet at 8 when i got there but by 9 was picking up. Service was unusually honest and a little weird but didn't rush us at all and was very helpful. The steak and mashed potatoes were nothing special but the mac and cheese was delish and the risotto was pretty good as well. All in all it was a very nice small restaurant that is different and definatly worth trying for yourself to get your own opinion.

    Nice new restaurant

After hearing great things about this new restaurant in Nolita, I decided to take a date there. After being greated at the door we were taken to a table with in minutes. Our server was nice and made some good recomendations for both wine and food. I'm glad i saved room for dessert b/c that may have been the best part the meal. Make sure you try the PB&J ice cream sandwich, its the best dessert I have had in years. Will be back soon.

    Good little spot

Liked the food and enjoyed the vibe. I will go back to try the meatloaf and fried chicken. Make sure you save room for dessert.

    Inexcusable service; cool place

This place is cool and a fun lil' joint...BUT the service is inexcusable. The food was decent, and the presentation was acceptable; but this place is a bit inept in service. The servers were not rude, just useless. We waited an eternity to get an initial waiter to ask us what we wanted to drink; then it took them 20 minutes to let us know that an item we ordered from the menu had ran out. Thank God we were faintly tipsy, which somewhat curbed our apetitite; because normally I wouldn't this long for an appetizer. It's a shame, but I must say I would not return.
