    Top Notch Sushi

This is one of the best sushi restaurants in NYC - sure you pay for it but you're paying for quality and it shows. Don't expect crazy rolls or huge pieces of fish - good fish costs a lot these days. The sushi bar is the place to be. It's traditional, no fuss and the chef is quite friendly. We love their sea urchin, octopus, tuna, kanpachi and salmon.

    Japanese approves

Please don't expect every day value here. This is a definitely high-end for those who knows and love to experience difference of fish by name/origin. If you think that's whatever, don't waste your money. It's not your Haru sushi. The best way to enjoy there is omakase at counter with fun communication with the Japanese sushi chef, whether in English or Japanese. He is friendly. The waiting people are attentive, but maybe too much sometimes (felt like all over on me), can be improved a bit.

    Best Sushi in NYC

15 East has the best quality best tasting sushi and sashimi. if it's california rolls you want , this isnt the place for you. this is the :real deal: no frills sushi with fish from japan. Sushi prepared by trained sushi chef. Tuna like no other sushi place, the sea eel is better than any place anywhere. You must sit at the sushi bar not at a table. It is an amazing experience.

    doesn't worth it....

Me and my husband went there with another couple for some fun evening and great sushi... Sushi were OK but definitely not worth the prices they charge. Honestly, I know places where you can get better sushi and have a much better atmosphere then at 15 East.... Our bill came up to about $700 for 4 people, I think this is ridiculous and we didn't even order that much food. I don't think we will ever come back to this place...

    Overpriced and Obnoxious

We eat sushi about 4 nights a week so decided to mix it up a little and see what 15 was all about. Almost fell off my chair when I saw the menu/prices, but since we were already there what the hell. Had the Tuna flight for $75 and some random other stuff. The fish quality was amazing, fresh, literally melt in your mouth. Having said that, aside from the prices being as high as the portions were small, our waiter was the most aloof and obnoxious we've experienced in many years of eating out. He began as a true sake snob, attempting to make us feel dumb when asking for some help with the extensive menu. While ordering a roll, aside from there being no flexibility (apparently they don't have jalapeno in Japan, who new), he proceeded to tell us that rolls are really just fillers when you can't afford to order more of the real stuff. Bottom line: some great fish, but wouldn't go back on your expense account!

    extremely expensive

I spent 25 dollars on just six oysters. It totally wasn't worth it. This is a place where you are not getting your money's worth. If you want to spend alot and not get anything in return...go here.... Utterly disappointed and extremely broke...
