    Mediocre At best

Service was slow. It took 15 mins to even get our waitress to ackowledge us. Food was very ordinary and not worth the money. Atmosphere was dingy. Would not reccomend

    Downhill

I used to frequent 1492 for its great food but the quality has gotten progressively worse. On my last visit, the fried calamari had the consistency of rubber on the inside and mush on the outside. We were also served a salad that had no flavor whatsoever. Unless there's a shakedown in the kitchen, I won't be visiting again.

    awesome!

had a great valentine's dinner here with my boyfriend. adorable place with lots of candlelight. we shared the vegetables in truffle oil (delicious!), the tortilla espanol (very authentic!! felt like i was back in sevilla), seafood paella (calamari perfectly cooked) and garlic shrimp (very good). looking forward to visiting again!

    Great tapas, inconsistent service

The food is excellent! The service has varied depending on the waiter/waitress. But, all in all, totally worth any inconsistencies in service!

    Good food, rude service

My friends and I reserved a table for a Friday night, spent plenty of money on drinks and food, and then were rushed out by a server the moment we paid our bill because "people were waiting." It's too bad because the food really was excellent. I had the veggie paella which was delish, and my friends thoroughly enjoyed several tapas dishes (I tried a meatball and I can attest to its yumminess). The butter they serve the bread with is out-of-this-world good. Our server was slow with water and the "rustic" chairs and tables aren't the most comfortable, but I would have gone back if not for that woman at the end. She literally stared at us from a foot away until we got up.

    Great tapas

after reading all the reviews on the website, my husband and I tried this place the other day. And oh, it was so fantastic that we felt like we were back in Spain. It was crowded but waiters and waitresses took care of us well. The atmosphere was really nice with candle-lit interior. We ordered sangria, tasting tapas dish and some grilled vegetables. Our favorite was croquettes. We would definitely go back.

    very authentic tapas!

i went here with my girfriend the other night i felt like i was back in Barcelona! great tapas, great wine, and a very cool vibe. To comment on the slow service in the review below...the slow service is what makes this place authentic as thats how the service is in spain, never in a rush and take the time to enjoy life
