Superb Lunch
A cold dreary day found me in front of a relatively nondescript storefront restaurant on MacDougal Street in SOHO. What a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service was equally as friendly. The meal was well-prepared and presented and the value was obvious. Breakfast is served all-day long and on a subsequent visit discovered the oatmeal topped with fresh fruit (banana, kiwi, strawberry and blueberry). Highly recommended.

a satisfied costumer
my favorites: the shnitzel and the stuffed cabbage but there is definitely nothing like the saturday`s brunch! such a great Jachnon.. with a real Israeli salad :) who said there is no good and healthy food in NY?

A rare restaurant
My grown daughter and I stopped here for a quick bite on one of our NYC visits. We only had salads, but they were generous, distinctive, and delicious. The atmosphere was very congenial and while we were there I felt like we were part of the neighborhood. The staff was courteous and efficient, the prices were reasonable, and the food was memorably good. It's a small, understated place, but it made a big impression.

Excellent brunch!
My friend and I wanted to try this place because of the good reviews and we were NOT disappointed. We were allowed to linger over our meal without any glares from the wait staff but they were very prompt with the check as soon as we asked for it. The food was excellent and the price was VERY reasonable for New York. Overall, very satisfying and we will be going back!

Great neighborhood place
Unpretentious neighborhood cafe with consistent, freshly cooked fresh food, large portions, eclectic crowd.

Exactly what we were looking for...
I had read about this place but had never gone to try it out. One night my husband and I were looking for a late supper and came across 12 Chairs. It was exactly what we wanted - mellow atmosphere, good food and reasonable prices. We ordered two different salads, both of which were huge and delicious. I suggest trying the tasty, crunchy, little fig cookies they have by the cash register. Very pleasant experience and we will go back.
