Great neighborhood place
Unpretentious neighborhood cafe with consistent, freshly cooked fresh food, large portions, eclectic crowd.

Exactly what we were looking for...
I had read about this place but had never gone to try it out. One night my husband and I were looking for a late supper and came across 12 Chairs. It was exactly what we wanted - mellow atmosphere, good food and reasonable prices. We ordered two different salads, both of which were huge and delicious. I suggest trying the tasty, crunchy, little fig cookies they have by the cash register. Very pleasant experience and we will go back.

Cozy and cute
What a delightful place for any meal. Of course space is definitely an issue, so plan wisely- not for your bday party or a after work gathering. But if you want a simple meal with great fares and some one on one time- definitely the place to be. Because the bathroom is always in the back you get to walk through the kitchen and see everything in the works. The service is friendly and the kitchen staff even says hello. The menu is simple and you could probably find all the essentials. Call it cool refreshing comfort food. Sunday brunches are great. Definitely one of those hidden gems

Great, comfy place
Very old-school greenwich village coffee house feel but with good eastern euro "soul food"....

Delicious dessert!
The chocolate mud cake (mousse cake) is to die for! My friend had the apple pie and absolutely loved it...the crust is more cake-like than traditional pie crust. The atmosphere is very cute and cozy, we enjoyed the Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel playing in the background. I'm sure to come back for dinner sometime.

Good, simple, home-cooked food...
A great place for food you don't want to have to think too long about. Go in, sit down, pick something, order, eat, enjoy, linger, leave satisfied. isn't that what a restaurant is supposed to do? 12 Chairs has a delicious menu - from breakfast to lunch and even dinner. And the staff are friendly. You can't go wrong...
