    Huh?

Great service, great food but dear god the decore of this place sucks. They've changed the photos (finally!) but I still feel like it needs something else...maybe a rotating retrospective of photographers? Just ANYTHING to change the blandness up a bit...

In desperate need of a change!

Great food at a great value - the portions are huge for the price!! - and the service is phenom, but the atmosphere is just unpleasant. A new paint job and some new artwork on the walls would really go a long way. The terribly drab pictures take lot away from what could be a really fab little neighborhood joint. Fix this place up already! At least change the pictures!!

    Spruce the place up already!

It's too bad the decore of this place sucks because the food and the waitstaff deserve better. Not sure if the owner thinks hiring a sexy waitstaff will distract from the nj hole in the wall look, but it doesn't. Sad because the food is pretty good. Go if only for the strong drinks and the amusing banter with your server.

    This restaurant is pretty lame

I have eaten at this establishment on several occasions. Unfortunately, the food is boring and mediocre. They give a lot of food, but the quality is subpar. This wouldn't be a problem if the restaurant weren't so darned expensive. WAY WAY overpriced!

    just like family

I agree with some of the other reviews, the atmosphere is bland and somewhat outdated, but the food...that my friend, is not. A patient pretty blonde waitress took my table's very complex order and within 20 minutes it was like my mom had made 4 meals to order. Our waitress even smiled through our 3 credit card split of the check. I highly recommend 107 West, if only for their awesome staff that treats you just like family.

    best local spot

this is the best place in the heights to go for any meal. they serve consistently good food and have great service. its very clean, and food is always fresh :) ask staff for nightly recommendations they are always great! added bonus it that they are environmentally friendly and have a recycling program in which you can earn points for free things! highly recommended!!

    Trust meit's really good.

I've been going to this restaurant, week after week, for years. I've brought friends and family all to rave reviews. The prices for dinner aren't cheap, but in this tiny enclave, it's de rigeur. Locals know the staff well and all are pleasant and amiable. Try the potato and bacon dumplings with the plum coulis sauce (you'll want to lick the plate) the warm and wonderfully spicy organic tofu (not something I'd normally eat, but wow it's good), the signature tomato and corn soup, goat cheese and arugula salad, and the St. Peter's fish. On weekends, I have to say it's hard being limited to a brunch menu when you're craving your faves, but the scrambled eggs w/salmon and onion and the spinach and mushroom omelette and very nice with a kicky bloody mary. For dessert? You can do no wrong with a huge slice of frozen mocha cake. In conclusionthis is the neighborhood place to which you'll return again and again. They do take pride in preparing a good, hearty, and tasty meal. Now that I've tried it all, I only wish for one thing: new menu items!
