Dependable & tasty!
This was the 1st place we dined at when we were looking into moving to the area… years later we are still satisfied customers! Love the food here – the brunch offerings, pasta, tortilla bar stuff, soups/salads/appetizers… we’ve enjoyed almost everything on the menu here & have been pleased (one exception: I’m not a fan of their red beans & rice side). Menu offers wide, somewhat-Southwestern choices. It’s mid-priced, not super-cheap, but it’s delicious, quality food that definitely fills a niche in the ’hood. Service is friendly. Decor is calming – airy w/ lots of light wood. I hope this place sticks around for a long time!

Hidden jewel of Morning Side Hts
This is a rather unassuming place, however the Cajun-Italian menu is consistently excellent, including the desserts; the staff friendly and professional; and the prices are very fair. The food is so good I used to eat there regularly before moving--and I do not make big money--enjoying the fact that the same meal in a mid-town restaurant would be at least double the cost. The compaints about the decor are. to me, really unfounded. This is not a glitzy joint-- but it is a comfortable place to enjoya quality meal.

Huh?
Great service, great food but dear god the decore of this place sucks. They've changed the photos (finally!) but I still feel like it needs something else...maybe a rotating retrospective of photographers? Just ANYTHING to change the blandness up a bit...

In desperate need of a change!
Great food at a great value - the portions are huge for the price!! - and the service is phenom, but the atmosphere is just unpleasant. A new paint job and some new artwork on the walls would really go a long way. The terribly drab pictures take lot away from what could be a really fab little neighborhood joint. Fix this place up already! At least change the pictures!!

Spruce the place up already!
It's too bad the decore of this place sucks because the food and the waitstaff deserve better. Not sure if the owner thinks hiring a sexy waitstaff will distract from the nj hole in the wall look, but it doesn't. Sad because the food is pretty good. Go if only for the strong drinks and the amusing banter with your server.

This restaurant is pretty lame
I have eaten at this establishment on several occasions. Unfortunately, the food is boring and mediocre. They give a lot of food, but the quality is subpar. This wouldn't be a problem if the restaurant weren't so darned expensive. WAY WAY overpriced!

just like family
I agree with some of the other reviews, the atmosphere is bland and somewhat outdated, but the food...that my friend, is not. A patient pretty blonde waitress took my table's very complex order and within 20 minutes it was like my mom had made 4 meals to order. Our waitress even smiled through our 3 credit card split of the check. I highly recommend 107 West, if only for their awesome staff that treats you just like family.
